Re: 2011 Recruiting Discussion Thread
He very well may be the best pg in the class. Coming off a major injury is what caused his ranking to fall. With that said, usually there isn't much difference talent wise throughout the top 10 of most classes. Wroten will likely be in the top 10 (if not top 5) and Teague will be top 10 for the year. Cook is another very good pg. All 3 are different in styles though so its mainly who is the best fit for your program and I think Teague fills that role for UK. I also think that Wroten will fill that role for Washington.Tony Wroten is gonna be a star. He just racked up 42 pts, 9 rebounds, 7 assists in the Clash of the Classes HS game between Washington and Oregon All Stars that features Kyle Wiltjer, Gary Bell Jr., ect.
IMO Wroten is the best PG in this class. I don't know why scout lists him as a SG. Wroten will play PG in college and I just don't see any PG in this class touching him. No disrespect to Teague#WeAreUKComment

Re: 2011 Recruiting Discussion Thread
That's interesting. Unfortunately for me, I have no idea which part of it that you think is so ridiculous. Of course there were only two parts to my original post about this with one being that Pitino KNEW that Clifton was involved with Miller's recruiting and the other being that Wall decided to go to UK despite Clifton's influence. If it's about Pitino knowing well before two weeks ago (when he stopped recruiting Clifton), at the least since the spring, then I can prove that he either knew or would have been an idiot to not know. If it is about Wall then I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
This is too one sided of a conversation. I'll let it go. Have fun this season...and next

Re: 2011 Recruiting Discussion Thread
Rodney Hood will make his decision at some point this week. He will be deciding between:
Florida State(believed to be the long time front-runner)
Marquette (who has come on really strong)
Louisville (late to the party, said he enjoyed his visit)
Mississippi St (home-state school...long term recruiting)
Alabama (no info)
I truly, truly hope that he picks UofL, but I'm not sure we have been involved long enough to have a shot. If he doesn't come here, I hope he doesn't choose Marquette, for obvious reasons.
My gut tells me its either Florida State or Mississippi State.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: 2011 Recruiting Discussion Thread
Why do people think he is a distraction to the team or will be a distraction??? Wroten might be a cocky and confident kid but he hasn't done nothing wrong to distract his high school team, AAU team, ect. The kid pulls in good grades and loves his hometown more than anything.Comment

Good luck on getting Hood. I think UL has a good chance of getting him for some reason.Comment

Re: 2011 Recruiting Discussion Thread
his attitude is what makes me think that he has the potential to be a distraction. And you're correct, he's not a distraction to his current teams, but then again you have to wonder how much of a leash is he given, in terms of being boisterous. Why do people think he is a distraction to the team or will be a distraction??? Wroten might be a cocky and confident kid but he hasn't done nothing wrong to distract his high school team, AAU team, ect. The kid pulls in good grades and loves his hometown more than anything.
I'm not saying he's a bad kid, I'm not saying its guaranteed that he'll do anything to disrupt/distract Washington, just that, imo, he has the potential to.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: 2011 Recruiting Discussion Thread
I watched that game. Wroten was the best player on the court and you could just see it. Better than Gary Bell, Wiltjer, Anrio Adams, Hikeem Stewart, everyone. Not to say that the other guys aren't talented, but it just feels like Wroten's ability is on another level compared to everyone else. His vision was great, though he gets a little too fancy with some of his passes and some teammates just weren't ready to catch his passes. He had no fear in pulling up from long range, and he hit quite a few threes. His form didn't look bad at all to me. Shot was a little bit flat, but nothing as bad as everything that I've heard so far. He shot it consistently well from mid to long range. And of course, he got to the rim almost at will.Tony Wroten is gonna be a star. He just racked up 42 pts, 9 rebounds, 7 assists in the Clash of the Classes HS game between Washington and Oregon All Stars that features Kyle Wiltjer, Gary Bell Jr., ect.

I'm most excited about his defensive potential. Long and quick, and good bounce. I'm very excited. He's a VERY hard worker and like I've said, will have tons of support from the older Seattle guys. I don't see him failing. However, I can understand why countryboy didn't want him. I think that if he went anywhere else but UW, the chances of him having issues with focus rise dramatically. But playing in front of his family and at home, there's just too much support for him here to fail.Comment

Yeah what alot of people don't know (not saying Countryboy is one of them) but alot of Seattle guys in the NBA look after these kids. They build close relationships with them, teach them the ropes and keep them in check. When I say close relationship I mean it as an older brother looking after his younger brother.
This area has produced so many talented basketball players there's going to be guys like Tony Wroten here and there who are cocky and too into themselves but when you have NBA guys from the area looking over your shoulders and watching your every move it's going to be tough to let them down.
@countryboy. I know you guys lost out on Wroten which u said u were glad you guys did (don't know why???) but watch out for a guy from the same area next year name Anrio Adams. All the big schools are after this kid. I think Pitino could use him and he goes to the same high school as Peyton Siva and also plays the same position.Last edited by Stack'n Skrillaz; 10-26-2010, 05:46 PM.Comment
