Who were you MOST impressed by?
Time to get things rolling in here. After the "unofficial" kickoff to the season yesterday who were you most impressed by?

Re: Who were you MOST impressed by?
May sound homer-ish, but believe me I am not a fan of them. I'm a die hard UNC fan.
But I have to go with a team from my state - University of South Carolina. They didn't look too impressive in their exhibition game, and they looked solid against Elon, but...it was Elon.
I fully expected them to get blown out by Michigan State, but they played a pretty competitive game. Every time MSU started to try to pull away, SC went on a run to cut back into the lead. They showed a lot of resolve to keep that game competitive until the very end.
I was especially pleased with the play of freshman point guard, Bruce Ellington. He looks like he could be a good replacement for Devan Downey over the next few years.

Hate to say it as an Indiana fan but The Ohio State U.
They are the real deal, winning like that at Florida with your best player playing his first "real" game was impressive.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

I know I sound like a fanboy, but seriously, IU. We look really good. I never though we would win a game by 20+ that we were only up by 4 at halftime.
In other teams, OSU. Dear lord I am scared of them.HoosiersPacersPhilliesRavens

Re: Who were you MOST impressed by?
Lots of love for OSU. I was able to watch a good majority of that game. I thought OSU looked pretty good in spurts as did Florida. To me it was a game with a lot of mistakes by young players that looked like they were missing some of the fundamentals to be a successful team. Maybe I've still got the bar of expectation set to a pre-1-and-done era level. Who knows, maybe the NBA's new collective bargaining agreement will help us out in that regard.Golf: Bubba

Re: Who were you MOST impressed by?
Huge IU fan here too and I am still not overly impressed, 3-0 is great but come on their schedule is a joke. They still make way too many mistakes and go through really bad streches (see the beginning of the MVS game). If they would have played anyone any good at all they would have been blown out in the MVS game. We are really not going to have any idea how good they are until they play at Boston College and UK.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Re: Who were you MOST impressed by?
IU looked much improved over last year in the half that I watched them for. They remind me of Michigan from a couple of years back, drilling threes left and right.
I can see them surprising people and finishing in the top half of the Big Ten this year. Sure MSU, OSU, Purdue, Wisconsin, and Illinois are complete mismatches, but I can see them being competitive with anyone else in the league. And IU's been known to pull off some upsets since they've been down, so I wouldn't be surprised if they beat one or more of the top teams this year.
However, I think next year is the year that the Hoosiers will really be back.Comment

They are going to be loaded once they add the next two classes they have coming in to go with Hulls, Watford, Creek, and Victor.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Re: Who were you MOST impressed by?
Not trying to be rude, but it's been so long since IU was relevant I actually had to think about why anybody would be an IU fan. Now if only they can get guys to stay in school.Golf: Bubba

Re: Who were you MOST impressed by?
I appreciate the vote for UofL, but in all seriousness, Butler is a bit over-rated and UofL's "convincing win" had more to do with what Butler didn't do than it did with what UofL did.
My vote would be either Kennesaw St or Ohio St. I know Ohio St is good, but with what they did to Florida, on the road, and Florida being a good team as well...that was impressive.
Kennesaw State for nothing more than beating Georgia Tech, muchless the manner in which they did.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: Who were you MOST impressed by?
I'm not saying that IU is very relevant today, just thought it was funny coming from a UF fan that caught lightening in a bottle and held onto it for a couple years. IU will be back. Give them 2-3 years and Crean will have gotten them in the talks for national title. Whether they get one remains to be seen, as it is with anyone since the tourney is one and done, but they will be in the title hunt again and most likely for years after that.#WeAreUKComment

Re: Who were you MOST impressed by?
I'm certainly not an IU so this is a bit akward, but that's pretty rich coming from a UF fan who has had as many transfers and decommits in the past 4 years as anyone. Not to mention the fact that UF has only been relevant like 3 times (2 championship runs and once in the 1990's)....ever. IU is tops in tradition and always will be.

Re: Who were you MOST impressed by?
Calm down homes. All I said was it had been a while for IU. Florida wasn't relevant until BD took over and hasn't been since the Noah days. The comment about Students staying in school had more to do with the NBA collective bargaining agreement I mentioned earlier in the thread. That's why I started the whole thing off by saying I wasn't trying to be disrespectful. Coming out of CFB season and moving back to basketball caused me to stop and think a bit more about why a bunch of people would be IU fans. Can't say anything around here these days without somebody jumping on it.
Although the second paragraph I do stand behind, but it wasn't meant to be an aggressive post. Sorry it came out that way.#WeAreUKComment
