I wouldn't mind Martin, he seems like he would fit pretty well.

Brad Stevens... yeah maybe we can make a run at Coach K too.

So if baseball is so important why dont they build a bigger stadium??
Oh because it would be empty, thats why.

And just because you are a fan of Texas you are right?
I wish that theory held up for all of my ND football agruements! lol

Again all you have to look at is how much the coaches make to tell which sport is more important to the school.

Just because a sport brings in more money (which is why coaches get paid more) doesn't mean that its more important to the fan base.

There aren't many schools in the country where baseball would be more important than basketball but I could certainly see it at Texas. That's why without guaranteed proof, nothing can be said as "definite".

LSU may be a school where basketball is behind both football and baseball in the fans' pecking order too.

I agree at your first sentence and at your second one. Hey, maybe we can get Bobby Knight to come out of retirement...

Maybe he wants to play more than 22 minutes a game. I think Mike loses recruits because his constant rotation of players means a lot of players will see time, but stars probably won't see enough.

Tough to get/keep top recruits with that style.

FWIW, Augie is the highest paid coach in college baseball, I believe.

And yes, I'm aware Richard Barnes is one of the top 5 or 10 highest paid basketball coaches in the country.

I could see Texas caring more about baseball than basketball. School is just loaded with money; that's why Barnes gets paid so much.

                        Re: 2011 Coaching Carousel

I'm amazed at the number of fans/people in the Da'Ville who believe that Pitino is retiring. He talked on the Drew Deener show this morning and was asked the question, and he responded that he will eventually and he'd like to leave the program when its on top.

Again, I guess it could happen, but I'll be very surprised if Coach P leaves anytime in the next 5 years.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(
