Situations like that, I fault a coaching staff more than I fault the head coach. 0.5 seconds left without a timeout, you're trying to get a play called to win the game. But someone on that bench should have asked the refs to look at the clock. I mean, in that situation you do that even if there's no issue with the clock just so you can get more time to design a play while they're reviewing.

But again, the officials stop playing during games for all kinds of minute, stupid reasons when they need to go to the monitors to review plays. Why they don't just automatically do that at the end of games just boggles my mind.

UW coach should have had the refs look at the monitor after the half court shot. Don't blame the refs for the coach being dumb.

actually the ref at the scorer's table should've caught it. And you have 4 officials on the court who are supposed to get calls right.

Sure, UW coaches should've said something, and for all we know, maybe they did. But for the refs not to 100% sure in that situation, is inexcusable.

They use the monitor for everything else during the game and then just run off the floor when the game ends. I'll never understand it.

College bball refs do normally do this at the end of games. In fact I have already seen time put back at the end of the game in at least a couple of tourney games already.

No excuse for those officials not to check the clock there. They should be ashamed of themselves. It shouldn't take a coach to say something, for the refs to exercise common sense.

But the refs should know better to.

This crowd will be very pro-Michigan. That should help a little, hopefully their size advantage doesn't hurt us like I expect it to.

Yep, this. The refs should have checked the monitor immediately, but the UW coaching staff should have alerted them as well to check the monitor.

Wow, Lorenzo says they asked the ref's to check the clock and they said they already had? Now there is a huge issue with that then because it was clearly wrong.

Side note, please someone shut Kenny Smith up, his never ending pro UNC garbage is getting old.

UW's coach in the postgame interview did just say the coaches said something to the officials about the clock. If that is true the officials are idiots.
