Re: The Official 2011 "Running Commentary of Every Single Tourney Game" Thread
Not to mention FSU was far too athletic for the defense they chose to run.A lot of it had to do with Florida State just going off from downtown to start the game. Like Rick Pitino said, Notre Dame is the kind of team that likes to get off to a lead and maintain it the whole game. Coming back isn't there thing, and Florida State was shooting out of this world to start the game. It was like Seton Hall vs. Syracuse.YNWAComment

Yeah FSU Defense was Impressive, ND was 7-30 From 3 and at one point they were 2-16. At considering that's a Huge part of ND offense, that's a big part of why they could never get back in the game and they just could never get into a rhythm to get a big run.
I've watched ND alot this was one of their worst performances by far.Wolverines Packers Cubs Celtics

That's the only way they got 2 teams into the sweet 16. All the other Big East teams that didn't play a Big East team lost.Comment

yeah and?
Who's to say they wouldn't have gotten two in anyways? Who's to say they wouldn't have gotten 4?
I didn't like the fact that the committee had it setup where there was a potential in the 2nd round of having 4 BE teams face each other. I know 11 is a lot to compensate for, but imo, they could've easily avoided this from happening just by re-seeding or moving teams around.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

The Big East getting 11 teams in messed up the seeding for everybody in my opinion. The committee had to make sure the BE teams were all split up, which meant putting 3 teams in 3 regions and 2 teams in another. With so many teams it was inevitable that they may have to play in the 2nd round because there was such a diverse grouping of teams from 1 conference.

The BE was the best basketball conference this year, but it wasn't this superconference that the media made it out to be. I would be lying if I said I didn't get a little pleasure from their poor performance in the tourney, but in the end it was the toughest conference. They just laid an egg at tourney time.PSN: Koolie_G

The Big East is the deepest conference. They just don't have too many (if any) great teams. Pitt, ND, Cuse, Louisville, UConn were all good teams but not great. The only teams this year that are great (maybe just very good) in my opinion are Duke, Kansas, and Ohio State in that order. The Big East getting 11 teams in messed up the seeding for everybody in my opinion. I don't know if this was already posted or not, but apparently the officials released a statement saying that they should NOT have called backcourt violation on Scoop Jardine. That stings a little
Oh well, Marquette outplayed us regardless.
