Seriously. If they're going to do these 4 play-in games, it should be among the last 8 at-large teams. These 16 vs 16 seed games are like the basketball version of nails on a chalkboard.

The quality of basketball is atrocious. They were equally bad teams playing against each other.

These games are really leaving a sour taste in my mouth. Then I was filling out some brackets and realized that there are SO many mediocre teams. Throw in the fact that I have to miss the day games tomorrow and Friday, and this year's March Madness is shaping up to be a real stinker for me. If I sound bitter, it's because I am.

The fact that tomorrow and Friday will be referred to as the 2nd round, then we have the 3rd round this weekend, just stupid.

These are play in games, the first round begins tomorrow.

The fact that they interview these teams after the game and talk about how they've won a tournament game just seems wrong, to me these teams haven't even made the tournament yet, you win your play in game and you made the dance, you lose and better luck next year but congrats on getting a chance to dance.

Normally on Wednesday's before the tournament, I'm amped up. This year, I'm just incredibly disappointed.

It's sad that I'm more interested in watching NIT games on ESPN2/ESPNU than this game.

I'm with you, I wish they'd get rid of this or at the very worst go back to 65 teams, the one play in game was fine, was even better as 64 but 65 could be lived with, these 4 games just feel so unnecessary and forced, doesn't feel like part of the tournament at all really.

I'm so glad it didn't expand to 96 teams, why they feel the need to tinker with the best playoff format around (IMO), I just don't know.

That said I'm watching this USC/VCU game just in hopes it stays close and we get a great finish, Gus Johnson might be able to save this yet.

The real madness begins tomorrow and I can't wait.
