Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
This is a quote from Crean on the scholarship problem over the summer during a IU Tailgate Tour event.
"A big part of the reason Crean is in this position, he said, is he prepared for a number of personnel losses that didn’t happen. For one thing, he recruited this incoming class under the assumption that he might not still have Christian Watford for the 2012-13 season.
You go into the season last year and we completely felt like Christian Watford, that that would very likely be his last year,” Crean said. “It could’ve been if he decided to go to the draft. But he wants to do more than go to the draft. He wants to be a first-round pick which is what he should be, and a guy that has an opportunity to move forward. You have to balance that a little bit when those decisions were made.”
So, Crean just didn't over recruit last year because he could and that's how he operates. It was for a reason and I have a feeling he's doing the same thing this year. I really get the feeling Tom Crean is recruiting right now assuming that Cody Zeller will be gone after this season. May or may not happen, but I get the feeling the staff is definitely preparing for it and could be expecting it.Comment

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
I don't know, I read on 247 that GT was the leader before his visit to UNC this weekend. UNC's class without another Top 100 player is going to look pretty weak considering what Roy's brought in in the past. We're not getting Wiggins or Randle, so striking out on Meeks as well could be a big blow. Vonleh is in the mix as well, though I dunno where we really stand with him.Bengals

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
Because he wants Okahfor in the 2014 class and doesn't want to jeopardize that by signing a player now who isn't as good. Plus you have Marshall Plumlee who can play the 5 and enough interchangeable 4 men who can play the 5 when K wants to small go small for a year.
I hope so, seems he enjoyed his 2nd visit this past weekend.

Reading tweets that Indiana has stopped recruiting Bee Jay Anya to focus their efforts on Noah Vonleh.
Looks like it'll be Anya to NC State.Comment
