Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
Purdue recruit Bryson Scott was recently snubbed from the Indiana Core Six team. For some perspective, he's made the top 60 on every major recruiting site and even IU fans were complaining about the snub on Twitter.
Oh well. Guess sometimes you aren't going to get respect.
No way Harris will get it now that he is going to MSU.

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
Why has this whole page been about the 2012 recruiting class in the 2013 thread? Shabazz/Noel/etc are all 2012.. 2013 is the Randle/Harrison twins class..Comment

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
Both Illinois commits that gave their verbals when Weber was still coach have reaffirmed and will stay on board under Groce.
So far our 13 class is looking good with:
4 star PG Jalen James (#76 on rivals)
4 star SG Malcolm Hill (#50 on rivals, expected to jump up when rivals does their rankings again)
Also had 4 star SG Kendrick Nunn from Chicago Simeon in for a visit last week and he said Illinois will be a finalist for him. Nunn would be a huge get because it would instantly give Groce credibility in recruiting the CPL, it took Weber a long time to get his foot in the door there so if Groce can get this ball rolling early it would be huge for him. I really hope we can land him, having James, Hill, and Nunn playing together in the Illinois back court would be awesome and would give us our best set of guards since Dee, Deron, and Luther.Favorite Teams:
NCAA- University of Illinois Fighting Illini
NFL- Cleveland Browns
MLB- St. Louis Cardinals
NBA- Boston Celtics
NHL- Chicago Blackhawks

Swopshire to transfer to Northwestern.
Jared Swopshire, a 6-foot-8 forward, will graduate from the University of Louisville in May and transfer to Northwestern for his final season of eligibility, his father said on Thursday.
Teddy Swopshire said Northwestern was the only school his son visited after they researched rosters and schools to figure out a good fit from a basketball and academic perspective.
Jared Swopshire averaged 3.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in 39 games as a reserve for the Cards this season.
“The opportunity is there for him to start,” Teddy Swopshire said. “He’s replacing (John) Shurna, so that’s the style he’s going for from an offensive and a playing style standpoint.”
There’s an added bonus for playing in Chicago for Jared Swopshire. His twin sisters Jasmine and Janna are sophomore forwards at Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Jared Swopshire, who missed all of the 2010-11 season with a severe groin injury, will take advantage of a NCAA rule that allows students who get their degree without using up their eligibility to transfer into a graduate program not offered by their first school without having to sit out a year.
Teddy Swopshire reiterated that his son had no regrets for not being able to finish his career at U of L, which didn’t have any scholarships available.
“He was there for four years,” his father said. “He’s got two Big East (tournament) championships, a Final Four appearance, and Elite Eight appearance, a conference (regular season) championship and he’s graduating.”
Rick Pitino had said he would "love to see Swopshire play 32 minutes somewhere else than 10 minutes here." Presto."You got it man. I don't watch hockey." SidVish"I thought LeBron James was just going to be another addition to help me score."

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
I read that UNC was the frontrunner for Randle. Hope it's not true, of all the guys in this class he's the one I want the most! From the clips I've seen, he's Terrence Jones with a non-stop motor."He who controlleths the backboard, controlleths the game." - Adolph RuppComment

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
Randle would be a great get. But if there are any classes to not be worried about, it's the 2013 class. The class is absolutely loaded and UK will get theirs.#WeAreUKComment
