You need to get off the west coast if you're looking for a star PG to root for.

Arizona probably makes the most sense, I don't watch a ton of Pac-10 basketball because it's so hard to find the damn stuff on TV on the east coast but Zona has always been the most entertaining west coast team IMO. In general they have very good PG's, though none at the moment.

UCLA is painful to watch and every other Pac-10 team is just painful period. I guess Washington could be an option but they'd drive me crazy. Too many athletes, not enough basketball players and so-so coaching. They're like the homeless man's version of UConn and they almost always underachieve.

Lol, I love UW basketball, always an adventure. Though that may make Matrix want to break his TV.

For the record, Calipari does not have any idiots or thug players. In fact, the closest thing he had to a thug player was Cousins in his first year. Last year UK had the highest APR in the SEC, yes even over Vandy.

This year they have some of the highest character guys with tons of skills that a team could ask for. Most scouts/analysts talk about the immense talent the frosh have but they rave about their character just as much.

Not trying to get you to follow UK, although they nearly fit your description to a tee, just wanted to point out some facts.

For the Record, he never said UK had thug players.


Also, go with the Illini, they are the Phoenix Suns of CBB.
Talent, but you know they are going to disappoint you, guard/PG heavy offense.

Gonzaga is definitely an option. I've kept a distant eye on them for years, always offensive and such.

I'm watching a recording of this Arizona/Valparaiso game and Arizona is not too shabby.

Good to see another Fresno State guy, man. I know about Rodney Terry. That's an exciting move for sure. I wonder if I get the Mountain West Channel on DirecTV somewhere. That would definitely help me get back to my roots.

I'm pretty sure in the end I probably won't watch any team specifically, just as every year, lol. Right now I don't even really miss basketball. We'll see what happens.

I think you can't go wrong with Arizona. They have a great coach in Sean Miller, and what looks to be a great recruiting class coming in next season.

It's too bad UNLV sucks now...would have been the perfect team for you, Matrix.

SDSU is not a bad option. Their coach is a good one, Fisher, and they play in a pretty good conference and are generally a solid team with a great recruiting pipeline.

I mean, I'd suggest UCLA more, but there is no way in good consciousness I could have you subject yourself to Ben Howland basketball.

You're right, he didn't say UK. But since he mentioned Cal, and he is entering his third season at Kentucky, one can only assume UK is part of the equation.

Ok guys I've placed myself in the same boat as Matrix. However, unlike Matrix, I don't really have any requirements, other than they have to be fun to watch, on TV every now and then so I can catch them sometimes, and they have to be decent to good, but not someone who's always ranked in the Top 25. Other than that, I don't care about conference, style of play, or anything like that. I'm leaning towards a team like Oklahoma State.

Do what I do and just pick a team before the game. Just enjoy basketball. I admire Coach K's mind... John Chaney's 2-3... the punch you in the mouth style of the Big East.
