In mid major news today, VCU extends its winning streak to 11 games with a road victory over those Monarchs of ODU. Great win fellas & keep it going.

AP is having a career night tonight. Nix isn't having a bad game either (although his D on Sullinger is kind of sloppy).

      We really need this win.

I was at the game. Ugly at times, tight to the end when Bazemore got trapped and turned it over which led to an and 1 on the other end to put VCU up 3. That was ballgame right there. ODU's free throw shooting continues to be awful. Great game though, hopefully we'll meet again in the CAA tourney though I doubt we have enough firepower to take you guys out this year.

The worse call was when White got called for a foul in the 1st half and the refs went to review the foul and didn't call an elbow to the face on UM.
The first half was consistent on both sides. It was a physical game. And the referees did miss that. Starting the second half, Miami was playing just as physical as FSU, yet getting called for more fouls. Had Miami actually hit their free throws though, they probably would have still pulled of the win.

Also, I think the worst call(s) of the game were when Reggie was called for his 3rd fouls of the game. They showed the replay 2-3 times and Reggie literally never touched the FSU player. Was a horrible call, especially after they didn't call a foul earlier when he was absolutely mugged when going up.

Purdue and Michigan have a couple of must-wins today. Purdue's tourney hopes will take a big dive if they lose at home to Northwestern, and Michigan really shouldn't lose to an Illinois team that doesn't know whether it's good or bad.
                NFL: Indianapolis Colts (12-6)
                NBA: Indiana Pacers (42-13)
                MLB: Cincinnati Reds (0-0)
                NHL: Detroit Red Wings (26-20-12)
NCAA: Purdue Boilermakers (FB: 1-11, BB: 15-12), Michigan Wolverines (FB: 7-6, BB: 19-7, H: 15-10-3)

I like Michigan's team. They could be one of those "sleeper" teams come March. They're not overwhelming athletically or physically but they have just enough talent/shooters to go on a VCU or Butler type run. They gave Duke all they could handle last year in the second round and I think they're better this year. Of course, since I'm saying this, they will most likely be this year's 5-seed who loses to a 12-seed in the first round.

If Hardaway/Smotrycz play like this or close to this on a consistent basis. I like Michigan going forward and will be a dangerous team to play in the NCAA tournament.

I think they look like a nice Round of 32/Sweet Sixteen squad. If they make further than that I will be surprised.
