Butler was 12/64 (18.8%) overall and 9/33 (27.3%) from three. Using my math skillz, they were 3/31 (9.7%) on two-point field goals. They couldn't be that bad again if they tried. I remember them missing several shots from inside 3 feet.

I'm pretty sure Butler only had one 2PT FG in the first 38 minutes of the game. I think they got two deuces real late.

Saw a news piece last night about how businesses in Louisville are getting ready for Saturday. I'm not trying to say anything bad about the UK fans on OS as I'm sure they are level headed people but heaven help the city of Louisville if Kentucky looses. I'm just loving the fact that Louisville made it to the Final Four, they've surpassed my expectations and have justified their preseason #4 ranking by getting this far.

Not really excited for this year's Final Four. Kind of lost interest after Ohio blew it. I don't like any of these teams but I guess I want OSU to win it to rep the B1G.

Lol. I didn't realize the rivalry was that intense. I understand a little smack talk in jest, but coming to blows over a game?

What's even better is that both guys were in their 70's. LOL. I don't think anyone outside the state of KY can really understand the intense rivalry. As far as Kentucky fans (I am one) it is difficult to put into words just how much we care about Kentucky basketball. It is part of our identities. You grow up a UK fan and you live and die with games. I know it seems silly to most and I know there are great fans of every team. However, in KY this is the one thing that people all can rally around. It is really unique. Indiana has great fans, but they have Purdue, Notre Dame, the Colts, Pacers etc. to root for. Same as Duke and Carolina, yes they care and love their teams, but the majority of the state has plenty of other rooting interests. In KY, UK basketball is a year round thing. The most similar situations are Alabama, Oklahoma type football. It's hard to explain, but it just matters...A LOT.

Being from Memphis, I find the the Louisville/Kentucky game must see TV just to see if Pitino can thwart Cal in the Final Four. Hoping Louisville can pull it off

I was 9 months old when the first dream game happened. Keep in mind, until 1983, the last time UK and UL had played was in 1959. So that game was something special. The intensity of this rivalry really cannot be explained. During the 60s and 70s there was a racial aspect to it that has since disappeared. 15 years ago, you would be hard pressed to find a Louisville fans outside of Louisville/Oldham Co./Bullit Co/Southern Indiana. People just did not grow up Louisville fans in Eastern/Western Kentucky. That has changed dramatically over the past few years as the University has began to reach out to various communities in this state. As far as basketball goes, Louisville fans love their hoops too. Louisville has always been seen as that blue collar, city type team. Hard working and their fans embodied that spirit. It is a commuter school where it was not uncommon to see a student working two jobs while taking a full load of courses. We put 22K into our arena every home game and it would be more if it were larger. When we lose, we're upset, but we still keep the party going. UK fans refer to us as Little Brother. Calipari has told UK fans to refer to us as OTIS (Other Team in State).

At first, we just wanted to prove that we belonged in the same class as Kentucky. The past 10 years, we just ignored that and concentrated on building our brand. As a result we surpassed UK in terms of facilities, olympic sports, revenue, etc. UK fans are frustrated because their A. Department seems to focus on basketball and gives other sports, particularily football, the shaft. Then, the powers that be in Lexington looked over at what was going on in Louisville, and were shocked. As if it happened overnight, they saw Louisville transform from that little commuter school, to a campus with brand new housing, research buildings, dining facilities, etc. For some reason UK leaders fell asleep and Louisville became aggressive. As I mentioned earlier, we're now getting students from areas in this state that would've never happened 10-15 years ago. UK sees this as us stepping into their turf and now new wars are starting. The schools put billboards up near each others campuses. All we have in this state are our college teams and that is one of the main reasons why this rivalry is so heated, athletically and academically.

Being an IU fan this sounds really bad but I would rather see UK win.
I want to see a oSU UK match up.

                                Pretty entertaining first half.

You just can't help but think though that Louisville doesn't have enough offense to really win this game considering how badly they struggle in the half-court to get good looks, but they're hanging in there and it will probably go down to the wire.
