Re: Points Created Formula ... Official Request Line!!!
This is how you put it:
Scoring points in the basket is the way to score Points with no question, but who said there weren't Potential points laying around... a block is a potential point, in fact worth 2.1 points. When you block the other team, you take away a chance from scoring, and usually you get the ball and have an average chance of scoring 1 point, although they might get it back, unlike Steals which you take totally and are worth 2.4... more than TO which are worth 2.2 because a usual fastbreak with steals ensures a chance of accurately making the next shot.
Antonio Burks averages about 19 PC a game... if he was replaced by a person who stood around and accomplished nothing, Memphis would lose 19 points off the deficit... lets say Memphis' average is +10... without Burks and with a stalled dummy, Memphis would lose by 9.
Lets say Burks was injured and one of Memphis bench players took his spot and averaged 14 PC per "Burks Minutes" (about 27) ... then Memphis' +10 point lead would change to +2.5 ... you must divide the result (5) in half because only half of those points will apply to one side, (Defense or Offense)...
