There was something on CBS Sports saying he may redshirt next year.

Duke released a statement last night regarding guard Andre Dawkins after rumors were running rampant about his future in Durham.
"Andre Dawkins remains a member of the Duke basketball program. There is a possibility of him redshirting next season, but no decision will be made on that until the fall."
Dawkins' father, Andre Sr. told Stephen Wiseman of the Durham Herald-Sun that his son is still dealing with the after-affects of his sister's death. Lacey Dawkins, then 21, was killed in a car crash on her way to see Dawkins play at Duke in 2009.
"He's dealt with a lot. It's been tough. It hasn't been easy at all," Dawkins' father told the Raleigh News & Observer. "With the fast pace of playing high-level basketball you don't really get time to deal with things like that."
Dawkins joined Duke a year earlier than expected in 2009 -- and has been a role player each of his three seasons in Durham. He averaged 8.4 points this past season in 22.4 minutes and shot 39 percent from beyond the arc.

Arizona, Kentucky, Kansas, and Syracuse are supposedly on his list of destinations. I personally think he'll end up at Arizona and play for Sean Miller again.

Is Lyons able to play next year?
I don't want him on UK, but I think he could help some of their three point shooting problems.

Yes, he is. He's graduating in a few weeks. He'll be able to take advantage of that rule.

Rayvonte Rice 6'4 G from Drake is transferring to Illinois, he'll sit out this year and have 2 years of eligibility remaining.

He's from Champaign so he'll be playing for his hometown school, hopefully he can work on his outside shot during his year off. He's a good defender and rebounder, gets to the basket and to the FT line, if he can develop a 3 point shot should be pretty dangerous, even if he doesn't he fits coach Groce's system and brings a lot of things to the table the team needs.

16.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game last season at Drake.

Hell of a 3 point shooter.

But he's not nearly as skilled as he thinks so he often tries to do too much. If your coach can get him to accept a role on the team he'll be a nice asset. Just don't let him put the ball on the floor or lead fast breaks.

It should also be noted that some of his best games came against ACC opponents. So he's got that going for him too.

I gotta admit, I was shocked that Coach K gave his stamp of approval for this. I know Coach K and Coach Boeheim are close friends but I still find it surprising that he would help a conference team. Maybe he forgot Syracuse was going to the ACC

Coastal Carolina big man Sam McLaurin is transferring to Illinois, since he graduated he will be eligible to play this season.

He averaged 10 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks last season as a junior.

Obviously a major difference in competition going from the Big South to the B1G but I think he can fit in, we need more frontcourt depth with Meyers Leonard going pro. McLaurin doesn't shoot a lot, mostly just put back type buckets but he is a good rebounder and solid shot blocker so should be a good role player for 1 year since we had the scholarship open might as well use it.

Chose Illinois over Baylor, Georgia Tech, SMU, Virginia and a few others.

I liked the way he first broke the news last night around 1 am on twitter by saying:

"F--- it im going to Illinois #illinination"

I thought he was drunk or something lol but it was true he'll be in Champaign next season.
