It's being reported that Maurice Creek will transfer from IU. Sounds like he will be heading closer to home which makes sense as he probably wants to raise his kid closer to home.

It's a shame that Creek is a shell of the player he once was thanks to 3 injuries in a 21 month span. He showed great potential his freshman season before suffering a fractured kneecap. His 31 point performance against Kentucky was one of the best games by a freshman I have seen in my 20+ plus years of watching IU basketball.

I read the favorites for him are UNC and NC State on twitter. He's a good player and will be a good pickup for either team.

Illinois picks up another transfer, this time its PF Darius Paul (MAC Freshman of the Year) from Western Michigan, he'll sit out this season and have 3 left to play. He's the younger brother of Illinois G Brandon Paul who just graduated.

Turning into Transfer U, also a lot of speculation at the moment that Oregon State PG Ahmad Starks will be transferring into Illinois, hes a senior who is transferring closer to home because his grandmother is ill so it sounds like there is a chance he'll get a medical hardship waiver and would be eligible to play this coming season.

I read the favorites for him are UNC and NC State on twitter. He's a good player and will be a good pickup for either team.

Hopefully we get him because we will have no SG on the roster after this season.

What is the scholarship situation like for UNC? Do they have room for both Lacey & Wiggins?

Jackson Simmons & Desmond Hubert were walk ons their freshman years but received scholarships last year. Without counting them and including our 3 recruits we will be at 11 before Wiggins and Lacy. I also believe Luke Davis transferred to us to walk on as well but not 100% sure.

Jackson Simmons & Desmond Hubert were walk ons their freshman years but received scholarships last year. Without counting them and including our 3 recruits we will be at 11 before Wiggins and Lacy. I also believe Luke Davis transferred to us to walk on as well but not 100% sure.

I assumed that UNC did have enough, because unlike some coaches, Roy generally doesn't over recruit.


Also Trae Golden is transferring from Tennessee.

Loss of Trae Golden is pretty big. Thats alot of minutes to fill for a team with not much depth at the 1, especially with Skylar Mcbee graduating.

Yeah that really hurts Tennessee. I thought they were right there with Kentucky, Florida and LSU next year to be the "top" teams in the SEC, but not anymore. I wonder why he is transferring.

He didn't really "transfer", he was kicked out of the university for "repeated plagiarism".
