Good first half between Indiana State and Wichita State. They go into the half tied at 36.Comment

Re: 2/3-2/9 Game Thread Discussion
I haven't had the time to do daily recaps this week, so here is a who had a good week, bad week and who needs a good weekend:
Good week: Iowa State with a win at Oklahoma State in 3OT.
Ohio State with a much needed road win at Iowa.
West Virginia won at home vs Oklahoma.
Stanford won at California.
Cincinnati stays undefeated in conference with a home win vs. UConn.
Having a bad week either because of a bad loss or a missed opportunity:
Xavier lost at Villanova to push their losing streak to 3 games.
Oklahoma State lost at home for the 2nd straight game, lost their 3rd straight game overall and has lost 4 of their last 5.
Baylor lost at home by 17 to Kansas to continue their struggles since Big 12 play has started.
Missouri missed out on their chance for a signature win at Florida. I looked at their schedule, they don't play Florida or Kentucky again in the regular season.
Tennessee lost at Vanderbilt.
LSU lost at Georgia.
St. Joe's missed a shot at getting themselves in the at large conversation with a 16 point home loss to St. Louis.
Richmond slim at large chances took a hit with one of their best players suffering a season ending injury.
Indiana State missed their opportunity at home vs Wichita State.
Boise State blew a double digit lead at home vs San Diego State, it would have really been the signature win they needed too.
Oregon missed their chance at a signature road win at Arizona.
As you can see, this week had more teams that hurt themselves or missed opportunities than teams that helped and capitalized on opportunities."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. I just think them up and write em down". - Cartman

Re: 2/3-2/9 Game Thread Discussion
Due to the length of my previous post, I think it would be better if I put who needs a good weekend/weekend look-ahead here to make it easier to read.
Big Games this Weekend:
Saturday:
Michigan goes to Iowa (2:00 PM ET, ESPN)
Wichita State goes to Northern Iowa (9:00 PM ET, ESPN2)
Gonzaga goes to Memphis (9:00 PM ET, ESPN)
Texas goes Kansas State (1:30 PM ET)
Providence goes to Xavier (3:00 PM ET, FOXS1)
Florida State goes to Maryland (3:00 PM ET, ESPN2)
West Virginia goes to Kansas ( 4:00 PM ET, ESPN)
Missouri goes to Ole Miss (5:00 PM ET)
Oregon goes to Arizona State (5:00 PM ET, FOXS1)
Baylor goes to Oklahoma (7:00 PM ET, ESPN2)
Cincinnati goes to SMU (730 PM ET, ESPN-U)
VCU goes to St. Joe's (8:00 PM ET, CBSSN)
Rivalry Game Alert: UCLA goes to USC (1030 PM ET, PAC-12N)
Sunday:
Michigan State at Wisconsin (1PM ET, CBS)
Clemson at Syracuse (6:00 PM ET, ESPN-U)
Creighton at St. John's ( 7:00 PM ET, FOXS1)
Oregon State at Arizona ( 7:00 PM ET, PAC12)
These are all the games I think have some level of significance for Selection Sunday either for both teams or just one. If Gonzaga doesn't win at Memphis on Saturday, I will be interested to see what the talk about Gonzaga is. They don't have the typical Gonzaga resume, the best wins they have are Arkansas (Neutral), at West Virgina, home against St. Mary's.Last edited by phenom1990; 02-07-2014, 01:03 PM."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. Re: 2/3-2/9 Game Thread Discussion
I watched most of that game. Steve Fisher has done a phenomenal job this year with that team. Steve Fisher should be a run away for coach of the year. Xavier Thames is playing as well as anybody right now.
That loss probably crushed any chance of an at large bid for Boise State. They really needed that game for their resume. New Mexico and San Diego State are probably now the only 2 at large teams from the MWC. To get a third team in, someone will need to win the conference tournament.Comment

Re: 2/3-2/9 Game Thread Discussion
Florida had a tougher time with 'Bama than I thought they would, but a win's a win. 21-2, 10-0 in the SEC. Now we go to UT and UK and play 5 of our last 8 games on the road. If we go 4-4 down the stretch it won't surprise me."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do.
