CBS, Turner announce broadcast teams for the NCAA tournament

You know the NCAA tournament is practically around the corner when we're getting news on who will be calling what games for the big event.
On Tuesday morning CBS Sports and Turner Sports announced the on-air talent for the tourney. There are some changes this season compared to recent years. For starters, the Final Four will not air exclusively on CBS for the first time in decades. The national semifinals on Saturday, April 5, will be broadcast on TBS.
The national title game will air on CBS on Monday, April 7.
Greg Anthony will replace Clark Kellogg alongside Jim Nantz and Steve Kerr, as and the three will comprise the No. 1 broadcast team for CBS/Turner at the Final Four. Kerr will work alongside Marv Albert for the first two weekends before sidling up with Nantz and Anthony for the final three games of the 2013-14 season. Tracy Wolfson will again be the sideline reporter at the Final Four and national title game. Turner's Ernie Johnson will lead hosting duties at the Final Four for the first time, and he'll be joined on set by Charles Barkley, Clark Kellogg and Kenny Smith.
Greg Gumbel will host studio duty from New York City and Matt Winer will host from Atlanta for the first two weekends. They will be joined by Reggie Miller, Seth Davis, Grant Hill, Doug Gottlieb, Grant Hill and college coaches to be determined later.
Gottlieb, who of course contributes here on CBSSports.com from time to time, will work at games the first weekend and then head to the studio for the regionals.
All NCAA tournament games will be broadcast on CBS, TBS, TNT and truTV, as they have for the past three seasons. And every game will be streamed free and live on the Internet via NCAA March Madness Live.
As for the broadcast pairings/teams, they're detailed below. goes play-by-play/color commentator(s)/sideline reporter. The locations/specific games these broadcast teams will be at will be announced a few hours after the NCAA tournament bracket is released on Selection Sunday, March 16.

The top four teams will also work from second-weekend sites.
Jim Nantz / Greg Anthony / Tracy Wolfson
Marv Albert / Steve Kerr / Craig Sager
Verne Lundquist / Bill Raftery / Allie LaForce
Kevin Harlan / Reggie Miller / Len Elmore / Rachel Nichols
Ian Eagle / Jim Spanarkel / Lewis Johnson
Brian Anderson / Dan Bonner / Kristine Leahy
Spero Dedes / Doug Gottlieb / Jaime Maggio
Andrew Catalon / Mike Gminski / Otis Livingston
The 76th NCAA tournament begins Tuesday, March 18. The First Four will air on truTV.

Interesting to see that Ernie Johnson is hosting the Final Four; that was inevitable due to the CBS/ Turner partnership. Greg Anthony and Clark Kellogg switching was something we all knew about for a while but they named their replacement for Tim Brando for play by play in the real 1st 2 rounds.

College basketball just isn't as exciting since Gus "Dynamite" Johnson went to Fox....

          A couple of things.

          1. Keep the NBA guys out of the college game please. Miller, Kerr, and Alberts bring nothing to the games. They don`t have any knowledge of the teams they are commentating on. The same goes for Johnson, Barkley, and Smith. You might as well just pull some random person off the street when it comes to Charles.

          2. I liked Clark Kellogg and thought he did a good job. However I think Greg Anthony replacing him is fine.

          3. I really miss hearing Gus Johnson calling games for CBS. It`s nice to have him on Fox Sports 1 but we need him in March.

          4. Just like kreich23 I love Bill Raftery and Verne Lundquist. I wish we could get Raftery calling the Final Four just once before he calls it quits. I`d actually Raftery over Johnson any day of the week.

          5. I`ll actually miss hearing Tim Brando calling games. I thought he did a pretty good job.

          6. Kevin Harlan is really damn good and should get more props than he already does.

          7. I wish Jay Bilas was still doing some games for CBS, he is one of the best College Basketball analyst in the business.

          8. Doug Gottlieb is really knowledgeable and knows the game really well. He is so arrogant and smug that he`s hard to listen to sometimes.

Yeah I agree with all your other points but I don't mind the NBA guys on. I don't think the college game is the best fit for Charles because of the way he operates if that makes sense but I think the rest of guys do a solid job. I enjoy Steve Kerr and he usually does at least a couple college games before the tournament. He did the San Diego State- San Jose State game the other night. I've always enjoyed Marv Albert and it's not like Jim Nantz does a ton of games before the NCAA tournament anymore either. I know they've had Marv do more college games the last couple seasons before the tournament. I've never been a big Reggie guy as an analyst so my thoughts about him stay the same regardless of NBA or college.

One guy that I like that never really gets mentioned is Ian Eagle. He is just good at announcing games of many sports. Nothing flashy, just solid.

Agree with both of you guys on Ian Eagle. Nothing spectacular but really damn solid. He`s probably pretty underrated compared to most announcers.

I agree with most of your points, but I like Kerr, thought he did pretty good. Barkley of course doesn't speak well but a couple years ago when there were quite a bit of upsets I do remember him calling a lot of them. Liking certain teams and players more than others and was pretty much right on with saying this team needs to do this to win or they aren't going to win because of whatever reason and him being right a lot more than being wrong.

Thought he did ok last year also, like I said definitely doesn't speak as well but did seem to know what was going on for the most part

He works for FOX now, so he can't do the tournament for CBS.

Oh, forgot it was on CBS. That's a shame because he's the best tournament broadcaster.
