This Gonzaga team is legit. Previous mid-majors that made the Final Four needed to play over their heads or hope the blue-bloods had off games in order to win it all. The Zags have the talent and coaching to go toe-to-toe against any team in the country. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see them win it.

I think Self is a very good coach, but I don't know why his teams rarely perform in the tourney. Two elite eights in a row is admirable. But you'd like to see more final fours's at least.

So maybe it's fair to say he's been a bit underwhelming.

Agreed rarely seems to perform to his seed no matter how good his team is regular season.

Makes you wonder if Memphis hits those free throws is Self still at KU right now? Great regular season coach but are the natives getting restless by now another 14 years later with nothing to show for it. I saw the stat yesterday that Self has made it in the dance eight times as a 1 seed, but he's 1/8 in reaching the final 4 in those years.

Yes, that's a pretty terrible record as a 1 seed.
