    1. Lots more scrolling to get to what I want to see (new posts, namely). The new website has everything spaced out way further and the good stuff is generally located about 66 percent of the way down a much bigger page (bigger in terms of how much you have to scroll). New posts on the old forum were in the top 33 percent of a smaller page. In short, it was easier and more convenient to get down to business and see what you wanted to see (here's a wayback link for the old forum: https://web.archive.org/web/20220523...2k-basketball/)

    2. Page time takes longer to load (guessing this will be fixed as the new forum is continually refined).

    3. This will sound so lazy but since webpage design is probably all about this kind of thing, I find it much more annoying to find a thread I'm looking for then to get the portion of that thread I'm looking for. On the old forum, threads would have page numbers right under the thread title with "last page" always there as an option. So far, from what I can tell on the new forum, my options for entering a thread is to click the thread title or to scroll my cursor over to the right to click a small double chevron. Small thing, but still annoying and limiting.

    4. There's less topics showing per page than there used to be. I think this may have been improved in recent weeks but I can't be sure. Either way, I see around 20 threads per page in the new 2K forum whereas I used to see 35-40 on the old forum.

    5. Page jumps within threads are more annoying to me. In the old forum, you had clickable page numbers at the top and bottom of the page, alongside a "next page" option (and maybe a "last page" but I can't recall). The new format swapped that out for a "next page" option or top or the ability to type in the page number you desire. Kind of annoying to go from mouse to keyboard and back to pick the page you desire.

    6. The way the page "rolls" back up on a page change is a little bit disorienting and annoying.

    7. My eyes have not gotten used to where to look to figure out what topics are really cooking. When I popped into the old forums, it was really easy to tell when some news dropped because I'd see a thread with like 10 page numbers below it and a prominent number that highlighted the number of replies. On the new forum, I still find my eyes confusing the number of reactions for number of replies, with everything feeling so spread out that I get a bit disoriented in terms of knowing quickly as to which topics are really jumping off.

I think two big solutions that would help me personally would:

    1. Condensing the amount of space everything takes up now. Every page feels like I'm going on a scrolling journey with less than half the payoff of an old OS page.

    2. Bring the necessities closer to a single eyeline location. If I see a thread title, it'd be nice to have page options and information right there instead of being relegated to a small double chevron on the opposite side of the page.

I know it's still all a work in progress but yeah, I can totally understand how the new format has impacted usage, because it certainly has for me.
This is exactly what I'm talking about. I couldn't have said it better. The new format is unnecessarily complicated and slow and full of clutter. It can be much more streamlined and efficient. It's inferior and a step back from the last format and it has affected my usage as well.

As you can see by my join date of 2006, I've been here for a looooong time. Mostly as a reader, rather than an engager. But this is my first time logging on in about a year. - because I wanted to see some early 2K impressions...my first thought was "wtf is this?" when I saw it. Immediately turned off by this new look.

edit: forgot to mention all the ads make it almost impossible to click on anything. I've had to go away from writing this to close an ad at least 5 times. And the light grey letters make it very difficult to read on the dark grey background. THIS IS AWFUL.

The old "style" was definitely nicer. Was hoping that option was in there but it is

I am on Chrome and Page 2 of a topic never loads. It is "working..." as I type this.

The board was already dying/dead and the format change killed it. Casuals and gamers in their 20s don't come here. The changes were ultimately too little too late in my estimation, and the ads are almost assuredly to make up for the loss in revenue.

Places like Reddit the users are significantly less knowledgeable, but there's a lot more engagement. 2K doesn't do a good job moderating it's sub so most of it is unoriginal memes, rate my garbage build, this community sucks, everyone sucks and i'm the best, and more of the usual whining. Definitely need to use "Search" to find what you're looking for... but with the added bonus that Reddit expands to way more topics and communities than OS ever will.

I haven't seen an ad here for decades now but I'm always using indie browsers and ad blockers.

Idk about anyone else, but the app doesn't work on my phone, which is a massive let down. That alone has kept me off these forums way more than I usually would've been. I agree, since the update the forums have been quite dead

I'll also say, as I read the other replies here, I can acknowledge that the state of 2K has changed over the years but I don't think that's the full reason these forums have been dead. I still seemed to be able to pop in and hop into conversations and engage to a pretty significant degree up until very recently (i.e. the forum swap).

Just looking back at the 2K23 Impressions thread alone (the most recent Wayback Machine time I could pull up), there were over 1,300 posts in the NBA 2K23 Impressions thread (https://web.archive.org/web/20230826...2k-basketball/).

As a more recent comparison, the NBA 2K25 "Gameplay Improvements" preview thread in the run-up to 2K25's release had 230 comments. This year's "gameplay improvement" thread is stuck at less than 70.

Format and layout changes are always tough for the public to handle (I remember the "I'm quitting Facebook!" posts back in the day whenever they'd tweak their layout) but usually after a few days, if the layout still made sense, people would acclimate and carry on business as usual. The issue is that things here are now so different and in some cases a downgrade over what they were before that we're months in and I'm still struggling get my brain to adapt to a layout that feels more cumbersome and disorienting.

                      Hey Dusen,

Sorry to bug you on a Saturday. I’m trying to use the way back machine haha, and I’m horrible at it. Any way you’re able to link me to the Operation Sports thread from the 21-22 season that was “The Photographic Side of NBA 2K22.”

I like to look through the old ones. And that’s the only one I’ve never been able to find haha

Ps, I tried messaging you on here, but it says your private messages are completely full haha.
