I kinda wanted the forum to get a bit more modern. Not anymore. I miss the old version. I'm barely on this site anymore.

Modern in my mind means better but this is 10 steps back. Everything that's already been pointed out in great detail just sucks and it shows with the lack of engagement these forums have now compared to the last format. Bring the old forums back or loose the rest of fans you have left left.

As always, feedback always fine and we’re actively working on some forum solutions, but if you’re really not happy with the forum right now we do now have a Discord as well to just chat with OSers.
I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.

I don't mind the format at this point but some probably didn't let it play out after getting frustrated.

Some say they don't think it's because of the change but then it must be a weird coincidence that posting seems to have dropped by quite a bit.

I like the format but it has a lot of glitches and repeat posts. I often can’t post online without logging in multiple times, but can post thru the tapatalk app.

There was nothing wrong with the prior format and it was superior to this convoluted mess. Bring it back

I find Discord an absolute mess and I don't even understand how this platform is so popular. The same people who complain about a game's UI post on that chaotic mess of UI called Discord.

I just tried Discord for the first time and I’m like “What the heck is this?” Maybe I’m missing something but there are no threads. Just a random NBA 2K shout box where I have no idea what is going on. Deleted after 1 minute lol

It’s all comments based, similar to how Slack works. It’s technically easier to search for your topic since you can simply search for the words and it’ll bring up all of the comments about it via discord. If it’s a popular topic, then there is a reply/comment chain. It acts as a more real time type of forum and is supposed to promote live active conversation. It can also have basic answers provided by bots.

I'll also add that it doesn't help that page load times can come close to being 15 seconds long at certain points. It's like I'm back on dial up. There's a lot of push factors leading me not to visit and contribute as often.

This forum is incredibly difficult to read these days. The days of devs posting here are long gone.

Yeah, am here because am loyal, I've got plenty of info, wisdom and joy in here, so am grateful and will never leave as I want well for Steve and all OS contributors; however, is really sad the drastically declined activity due to, as you all have said, a mix of different factors:

                          - Old heads being against change (thus I would say is the least of motives by a whole lot)
                          - I believe Discord should only be seeing as a casual and non-formal complement of this website and not a featured and promoted plus (thus that is just me)
                          - The new format of the website being very, very slow (like others have said, it's kind of desperate)
                          - Not as much activity nor interaction with and from devs
                          - Most threads being directed to a way younger audience (at least that is what it seems to me when I read them) and without that spark that causes people to comment

Life is made of cycles, so I am not as worried, this is only a down, and all that awaits OS is the go up again

Is there someone at operation sports who cares to read this? Can they listen to our plea? Seems like 96% of us want the OLD back. My motto. If it ain't broke. Don't fix it. I work in IT. Phone systems are all jacked, networking, it's all a convoluted mess now. Again. Don't break it even if your intentions are good. Can backfire drastically. Simplification worked very fine on OperationSports.

The obtrusive advertisements really haven't helped either. There was times the ads were so bad, it would interrupt me as I was typing and I couldn't even see my sentence after clicking Enter hoping for the best.

Maybe is a cost thing ... and if so, I think there is little one can do ... having said that, it is not just this new format/web site, more interaction from devs is required, to regain part of the old identity.
