I was hoping they would add Jimmy Butlers JB 3 Li-Ning shoes in that he wore last season

They have to get the model from Li-Ning. They’ve been better about it so I’m sure at some point they’ll send it to them so it’ll be in later this year. But we’ll see.

Speaking of Li-Ning, can we assign them to any player now or is it still limited to only who 2k have setup with Li-Ning?

Li-Ning and Peak have been pretty awful at adding shoes the past few seasons. Li-Ning finally added the CJ3 and JB2 last season, but Butler had already moved on to the JB3. He'll probably be wearing the JB4 this season while there is still no JB3 currently. Li-Ning is also way behind on all of the Way of Wade shoes.

Peak hasn't added any new models in about two or three years. Wiggins was wearing this third signature last season, but Peak only had his first signature shoe in the game. They also haven't added the models that Malik Monk and Jose Alvarado have been wearing.

Last season I emailed someone from Li-Ning's marketing team about getting updated shoes in the game and I actually got a response from them, but they were unwilling to discuss anything because I wasn't from 2K.

The only issue on the 2k side is that while Alvarado wears Peak by default, when you go to update colorways, it only allows for the other shoe types and since Peak is one of the unselectables for those with everything else, you can’t select any colorway you make. Other than that, yes they haven’t added anything for 2k in a few years.

Yeah that's been an issue for a few players who wear those brands that can't be assigned to other players. I just wish we could get some explanation or solution to make all shoe brands available to players who are sneaker free agents. Guys like Caldwell-Pope have been with 361 Degrees for a couple of seasons now, but they still have him in Nikes. Some roster creators have been able to override their shoe brands in the PC version and upload their DNA to share, but you can't change the shoe model.

So you actually can for some, it depends on how the changes are made by the PC roster creator. For example I had a roster last year that had KCP updated to 361, but I could edit the colorway because I think it was done on the backend and not using DNA. So what I did was update the colorway on that roster and then transfer the appearance DNA and that stuck. But if you tried to do it after you transferred DNA, then it would give you the issue.

As long as it’s done that way and not by transferring DNA, you can get one from a PC roster maker and update on the console version and make colorways stick like that.

I'm hearing they did away with PC and console sharing so idk if this is possible anymore..I hope I'm wrong
