Post (and many other) tendencies are cooked this year

Seeing Shaq and Kareem shooting fades and forced Contested shots in the paint when you have their post hook tendencies maxed out at 100% (and all other post move tendencies at 0%) is exactly frustrating when you’re trying to get the the AI to play to their players strength

I’ve tried everything to get some of these legend players to play like their real life counterpart and nothing seems to be working

has been a few years when the tendencies been a bit wonky in 2K but this year it seems to be extra wonky for some strange reason

Needless to say, I’m extremely disappointed and hope something like this will get checked out and fixed and update but I know that all of the focus is gonna go towards the wants and needs of the online community first

I guess I have to just realize that off-line sim players is at the bottom of the list of 2k’s priorities right now

Find a good roster creator. It’s a lot of people making them and it’ll be more with time. The foundation of the game is good and probably just gonna get better with patches and good roster that fits your needs. The season hasn’t even started. Be patient, they’ll be popping up everywhere in no time

I make my own rosters and have been for well over a decade now

i like the game (only because I love basketball) It’s just a bit frustrating when you try to get a player to play like themselves and tendencies don’t work properly

This has been a problem in 2K for a while now, but never this bad and never with the post offensive tendencies

I brought 2K for PC (off-line MyNba play and modding) And I have 2K for my PS5 Pro as well (online rec play when I feel like it)

as far as online play this year, it’s exceptionally, easy extremely arcady and cheesy as hell (3 point fades) so I decided to stick to off-line PC play for now.

Are you playing with the throwback and all-time teams themselves or actually in a specific era? I ask because the throwback and all-time teams just play with modified playbooks, but if you play in a specific era, they have playbooks setup so that big men playing in the 80s/90s and before play more like old school big men.

When I tested in play now, the throwback Magic had Shaq playing nothing like he did, but the Eras version of the Magic had him playing much more like he actually did in real life.

I really miss the days when All the AI tendencies worked as intended

There’s so many beautiful animations in the game that is so Situational that the AI will barely attempt in game (Kyrie spin jumper)

The tendencies are more for when they actually get the ball in certain situations within a playbook. Where the playbook itself determines the actual play calling. It’s not really overriding anything though, it’s just a matter of where the players get setup and how often they get the ball and all that.

Also, I noticed through the years, All time players ratings/tendencies are far different from say a regular season roster. Like When a communiy roster comes up, Ray allen will be a 99 at 3 pointers, but on a 2013 Heat roster, his 3 point rating is about an 87. All the intangibles, all the mid shots, defense, stamina, all are jacked up for the all time teams. I'm not really sure why that is. My thought it's their peak in their career during a season when they were blowing up the statbooks. I've seen All Time rosters with lebron james over an 80 on 3 point shots and his defensive stats were all jacked up too. But in a regular season roster, things look more authentic. I actually despise the all time rosters for that reasons. The ratings are way off.

we’ve been on this adaptive coaching engine for over a decade now and I gotta be honest. I’m not really a fan of this as of late.

as a roster creator, control is everything to me and having ace override my tendencies specifically designed to have a player play in a specific way gets a bit frustrating to me

btw what ever happened to all the layup (like in MyCareer) customization that was promised to us offline users?
