All of these things are what is concerning me. The little details that make this franchise so great. Being able to experience the game you want it. Not having to be forced. Association had it's flaws but atleast I could control my league.
Right... for its how they drastically improve their gameplays from CG to NG... NBA 2K14 CG is not bad, but it has same issues that they had in their previous games (like you said)....

I hope 2K really focus on that angle after they decide to take out some features that player loved about... with that they can still get their target sales....

Yeah you and me both. This news killed my buzz a little bit for the game. I was so excited for Association. Even if it was just a port over mode.

I'm a control freak and I can never decide on just controlling one team. I love making realistic trades to help out other teams or simply replicate what I see in real life.

By no means (as I've stated before) that this is a game breaking change (plus I literally have no choice as I've invested in this game thinking it would atleast have Association with a 30 team control option). If this GM Mode is expanded next year to a 30 team control option then all is good. As well as bringing back all the other things that didn't make it over to Next Gen.

I think all of us who LOVE to play Association was excited for Association in next gen before this news broke out. And I'm a control freak. I LOVE to control my own team. Run a full scrimmages in practice with my team. Not role play as a GM. Real bummer.

Don't know yet but it doesn't look good for old fans of the association. I think the Madden comparison is a fair one. They like EA weren't satisfied with the franchise mode and decided to build a new foundation. Mygm is the new foundation. Like with madden and ccm many people will love it and many will hate it.

This is just my opinion but many of the things that I heard during the presentation and during my short time talking to devs were similar to what Josh Looman said about ccm last year.

The bottom line is without complete control....the mode isn't for me. I have madden and the show and I can ignore their flaws because the game gives me complete control over the entire league in franchise. That's not the case in mygm. I just have to accept that my type of player is becoming the minority. Ppl are more focused on online and single player modes now.

It hurts that they removed things. I'll keep judgement for when the game comes out. But will say I'm pretty happy I made the choice not to get the next gen until next year. Not as excited as I was before.

So true, I especially did not expect it from 2k. This team and the show devs are the only ones I trusted to keep the things I love in the game going forward. Now I feel crushed. I may have to do what I did with 2k5 and just run a season in exhibition with spreadsheets, sigh. It just depends whether I can handle playing the pc version after getting a taste of the ps4.

I just want to say that I am intrigued and kinda disappointed at the same time.

I've always hated having to "control" all 30 teams in order to get the right rotations, etc... but I've also understood why I've had to do that. Hopefully the concerns most Assoc mode players have had with the mode have been at minimum addressed and tweaked/overhauled for the better.

My biggest concern as of now is the functionality of editing players. We saw w/ Madden when CCM popped onto scene that they cut out editing, we can only hope 2K doesn't go as far.

Don't jump into conclusions. You still control your team. You can go into scrimmages. The new elements are IN ADDITION.

Who said that these features aren't there this year?

Lol. You? You should've seen me at the presentation! When I saw the stat screen and saw mygm instead of association, my face dropped. When they went into detail about the mode I knew instantly it was gone based on the way they described the mode.

What sucks is that the mode looks interesting just like ccm does. I just need the control.

                            I completely agree with you!!!!

This feels a lot like Madden and yes having complete control makes up for the flaws of any game really. Just look at WWE 2K14. It's a flawed game but Universe give you control of what you want to see.

And yes we are becoming the minority but that still doesn't give them the right to possibly alienate people like you. Because a game like this should serve everyone's needs. I would have taken the old Association and would have had no complaints.

Yup, that's a biggie for me as well. Even if I opted not to control all 30 teams, I still felt I needed the freedom to edit opposing players at will. Primary position (if a star PG for star PG trade took place), jersey number, shoes, dunks, accessories... that was all crucial and integral in my book.

In my opinion, you will be fine with the PC version. Especially with the mods the PC version has. U will miss out on some new animations and the foot planting but I think u will be ok if that mode is so important to u.
