Re: NBA 2K14 (Next Gen.) Official MyCAREER Thread

Just started a career. I never use this mode always played association,( my GM) . I got taken as 19th pick by Cleveland.I never had the cut screen where you sign with them

Currently 8-4, wanting to bring winning basketball back to Cleveland!

Had my best outing so far 37 pts 6 assists 3 steals 3 Rebs 2 blocks vs Washington

    I'm averaging 13 pts ppg 4 assists and 2 rebounds a game.

It's funny Irving seems to be on the bench when it comes down to the wire, I'm seeing minutes continually go up.

Playing for the Bulls makes the game 10x more fun than any other crappy team. I got drafted by Atlanta and it was quite frustrating watching teammates **** everything up. Ive been with Chicago since just before the All-star break. I love it when i miss a shot and Noah grabs the offensive board and then puts it back for 2. Using the on court coach signature skill is great too. Give Rose the isolation and he will just break someones ankles and drive to the hoop. Boozer hits most of his shots when you ask him to post up. Its just a lot more fun when youre not having to hold your team up every single game. During the playoffs Rose went down with the flu and missed a couple of games. Boozer gets on fire and has 26 before 3 qtr time.

      TLDR: Bulls are awesome.

Man I need to get on the Bulls. The Lakers are absolutely atrocious, aside from Kobe who'll atleast play aggressive on offense. We just can't win unless I do pretty much all the scoring, and since they've got me playing the 3 (I'm a PF) we're constantly losing the rebound battle.

Should i try PF or C?

i made a SF again went to the bobcats off the bench in 8 min quarters ( i did it to get past the 1st month quick) i usually play 12 mins...anyway i easily get 30-40 points with 5 assists 5 rebounds or more in a short time

The annoying thing about being PF is you might get playing time at the 3, which isn't very enjoyable with a lumbering big man that lacks the ball control to break defenders down 1-on-1. It also prevents you from getting your precious rebounds, plus runs you out of stamina chasing around wing players.

Then im not sure is a C any fun?

i might just have to make a small point guard that is like a rajon rondo rebounds passes scores 10 pts a game and not go over it no matter what

C is a lot of fun. Basically what I do when put at the 5 is just stay close to the rim no matter what - playing defense is easier as you're not drawn out from the paint too often, and you'll be slotted at the 4 a lot as well. It should guarantee your spot on the block, which is what you want playing as a big.

Whatever guard position you play, being short does increase the difficulty level. You won't get good shot grades unless you're really open.

I dont get why my athletic center is capped at 97 overall. It doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things since I've been dominating the league since I was rated 72 but it irks me that I'm rated as the 2nd best overall player to LeBron.

Yep. Can't help you out with rookie showcase stats though, long time ago.

The bobcats seriously suck i thought it would be fun to play with them but they can't defend for anything completely useless shooters left wide open all the time or somebody drives inside on big Al

I hope my SF's season with the TWolves isn't wasted now.. just 13 games in and JJ Barea tears MCL and out for season.. they haven't even had Rubio get hurt yet and he always does in 2K..so Rubio's backup is gone and my SF has been playing SG at 6'8 a bunch

Something is missing here. Since patch #3, Im subbed 1x between 3-4th qtr. Before I play the whole 2 qtrs without being subbed.

Although most of my rests are in the 1st half. Getting subbed with less than 4 mins in 1st and then subbed again less than 3 mins of the 2nd. Or less than 2 mins in 1st and then return with 7-8 mins rem. of 2nd.

I would like ot have a longer rest in the 3rd, usually i get only less than 2 mins rest. But i guess i need to be content on this.

Just make sure that your PF or C is less than 7 feet tall...or else you'll be disappointed.

Yes I got drafted to the bucks with my all-around SG and when I did I thought ooo man not sure how the bucks play but after staying with them the whole season I can say it was fun we won it all I started around second week of Jan. but funny thing I made the mistake of asking for a trade the first time talking to the GM in the second season and ended up on the bobcats lol so I only played the key games until I seen team interest in my player and asked to be traded again and got traded to the Bulls. I think if you get stats like this in the rookie showcase you can get drafted by them 26 points, 5+ assist., at least 5 rebounds, and one steal you have a good chance getting drafted by the Bucks. I think I had 26 points, 8 assist. 4 rebounds and 1 steal and a 1 block.
