That's my reasoning on waiting for the XB1. Given all the negative news on the One over the past few months and all the surging information on the PS4 (particularly 2K14) I was ready to make the switch and buy a PS4 last week but were no preorders available. Then I saw the demo of the XB1 user interface and it reminded me I'd likely use it more because of the multimedia features.
I love my PS3 but there are times when it's gone months without being turned on if there wasn't a new bluray or new game I wanted to play. Sucks neither machine has backwards compatibility. I really want to play next gen 2K14 but can't justify getting a PS4 primarily for that. If there's a distinct difference in the quality of cross platform games when the XB1 releases that may make me swing PS4-first more. But all things equal or near equal, I'll stick with the one I'm likely to use more outside of gaming
