Re: Why I'm Pissed At 2K Sports
I just find it funny that sooooo many people had such high expectations for the next gen.... Why would you?
Its brand new technology. If you got back and compare Madden 06 for 360 for example to Madden 25 for 360, its night & day..... PS2 Madden was still the hardcore preferred choice for the first 2-3 years of PS3 & 360 life.
Compare 2k7 to 2k14, now compare 2k14 on ps3 to ps4, whats better? Sure one looks pretty, but graphics do not make a game, or Live would have been #1 lol
Like its not 2k fault, its you're fault as the consumer for having such high expectations for something that never had a shot at living up to them.
Sorry about your problem tho.Comment

Re: Why I'm Pissed At 2K Sports
So I messed around with My GM a little bit and it is laughably horrible. I simulated to the all star game for this season which in real life will be in New Orleans and guess where NBA 2K14 has it... Houston. The court for the all star game shows Houston 2013... for an all star game that is supposed to be taking place in 2014.
There is an option when you are viewing the goals your owner wants you to accomplish and it gives you the option to chat with him. When I chose the option to chat with the owner it gave me two topics:
Option A: Ask for a Joke
When I chose this option the owner made a half assed attempt at a knock-knock joke (I am not making this up by the way).
Option B: Good Pick-Up Lines?
Choose this option and the owner gives you a lame pickup line.
So to make this clear we have no association mode, but we've got lame pickup lines and knock knock jokes... thanks 2K.Last edited by wolakfan; 11-17-2013, 12:55 AM.“Better learn not to talk to me. You shake the tree, a leopard’s gonna fall out.”

Re: Why I'm Pissed At 2K Sports
Hey man I have question for you? Like you I gained as much info about the game beforehand so I knew about MYGM etc. But honestly did you know that you couldn't save your own rosters to your hard drive and had to be online to retrieve your roster on 2L share prior to the game being released?. And also as far as season mode did you know beforehand that you could only control one team, I was led to believe that season mode was kept in place for as 2K put it "people who want to control teams and move plyers around". Many were satisfied with just season mode as an alternative to MYGM because it was implied you had control but that's not the case. So I can see why people are heated.
I only play NBA today quick games, season mode controlling one team and the occasional mycarreer so all the rest is no issue for me. Won't even touch MyGm.
I can understand you guys have some gripes with this but Was just pointing out OP got way dramatic about it and maybe some of you should lower your expectations, is this your first console launch?Comment

Yeah I did know cause for me the game will only be available on the 22nd and even knew before that from Shake's stream.

Re: Why I'm Pissed At 2K Sports
& ? it's their job to sell video games. No one is going to come out and say "Well this is our first game on the console, we are still getting to know the hardware, but we are gonna try and make the best game we can but you should know the ps3 version will still have more features & be less annoying."
C'mon now, thats a lame excuse.
& Even if 2k didn't live up to you're expectations, it could be worse. FIFA & Madden suffered far worst last gen in the first 2 years.
2k I'm sure did the most they could with the time they were alloted to get this product out in a timely manner..
Some of you should note, people can only do so much, even the people who make 2k basketball....... Chill out lolComment

I keep hearing how we are supposed to have lowered expectations and I want to know why? This is not 2K Sports first attempt at making an NBA video game, it is just their first attempt on NG systems. I am sure that 2K sports has employees that they pay who are knowledgable in making these games, so I don't see why I have to curb my expectations. In October this same company released a great game in the form of the CG NBA 2K14. Yet in the NG NBA 2K14 there are very simple things that are flat out wrong, and when you take the time to see how many simple things are wrong with the NG version of the game it is reasonable for people to have "gripes". I don't expect or demand perfection, but some of the mistakes are flat-out sloppy. For the record this is not my first console launch, not even close.Last edited by wolakfan; 11-17-2013, 02:09 AM.“Better learn not to talk to me. You shake the tree, a leopard’s gonna fall out.”

Re: Why I'm Pissed At 2K Sports
Most can agree with your frustrations, but we must also understand the business aspect of the industry. Let's be real, NG console graphics and capabilities along with what has already been established in the CG versions would equal an epic game where roster updates might only need to be necessary to enjoy for years (Ala NBA 2k11). Multiplayer association or GM will be in next year and it will be a major selling point for NBA 2k15.
Madden did the same thing and we complained and of course it was added the following year. 2k could have easily learned from Madden's mistake, but 2k knows they have loyal fans and we won't really turn our backs on them. Honestly, 2k has done things which have pissed us all off over the years, but at the end of the day 2k seems to have put out more quality games than most other companies (name bashing not necessary).
Just can't put all your cards on the table at once; you have to leave them wanting more next year. At the end of the day these people got bills to pay and kids to raise, so I don't even hate anymore. It's business take it or leave it. They don't want money one year, two years, three years, they want it every year they're in business and that's just good business..............Comment

THEY TOOK THINGS THAT WERE IN THIS GAME ALREADY. That is ****ing low and they should be taken to task for it. No offense but people with their "hey guys, this is normal for next gen and it will be back next year" is why they think they can get away with this ****.Comment

Re: Why I'm Pissed At 2K Sports
"IF ONLY THEY HAD GIVEN US A CHOICE"
Disclaimer: I have been playing 2K Sports Games from the beginning of their existence and have been a loyal supporter even through today. I am writing this review as a means to vent my frustration over the changes 2K Sports made to NBA 2K14 in regards to the next gen console versions of the game.
I want to start by stating that the gameplay and graphics in NBA 2K14 for the PS4 by far surpasses anything I've ever seen in a video game. However, most of the things that separated NBA 2K from its competition in terms of game features has been ruined in the next ten version of NBA 2K14.
Disappointment, anger, frustration, rage. All of these things came to a head when I was finally (after 5+ hours of installation) able to dive into NBA 2K14 for PS4. For starters, Playoffs Mode gone. Association mode gone (replaced by My GM). Season mode still exists as an option within MY GM mode but you can only control 1 team AND the start season from today option has been removed entirely. My GM mode is ok if you like mixing RPG elements with sports (which I hate immensely), but I wish 2K had given players the option to choose between My GM mode and the standard Assocation Mode (that IMO they had done a great job on the last few years). The most fun I've had in playing sports video games is running an association in which I control every team and dictate the success or failure of each and every team. Not to mention accurate stats, player rotations, etc. but now I'm forced to only controlling one team and earning points so that I can feed the egos of AI players, coaches and owners.
Attention: 2K Sports - Not everyone wants to live the daily routine of an NBA GM. Making roster moves and financial decisions are fine, but having to earn VC points so that you can stay on the AI's good side is annoying. Of course you do have the option to buy VC points (which makes me sick to my stomach).
The main reason I am so upset over the changes that 2K made is that it seems a bit out of character for them. Honestly, these moves seem like something that EA Sports would do. I played NBA Live before it was NBA Live (Lakers vs Celtics and the NBA Playoffs on Sega Genesis) and I remembered their glory days in the 90's and how far they fell off in the PS3, Xbox 360 Generation. Now like I mentioned earlier if you want to just play a quick game, the game looks and plays magnificently. But if you're like me and enjoy playing out a full season or two or more in an Association in which you are FULLY in control, then sadly this game isn't for you. Here's to hoping that EA Sports can capitalize on the mistakes 2K made with the next gen version of their game or that 2K comes to their senses with NBA 2K15.
Thank You for letting me rant.
The most recent is that you can't even play the MyGM w/o an active connection to the 2K server which is frustrating as hell for someone like me who doesn't even play online and has bought every copy of 2K since 2K7 primarily for the Association mode.
This game was the only reason I bought a PS4 so soon and now I'm looking to sell it.Comment

Re: Why I'm Pissed At 2K Sports
Why exactly does 2K (and other companies) feel the need that you need to be connected to their servers?
Is this to prevent cheating or this this because they are using cloud storage and this is the future or why?Comment
