I think VC has become a mental road block. Don't think of it as VC. Think of it as playing the game. You earn VC by playing the game. The VC costs are just a bar for you to clear based on how much you've played the game.

Don't think of it as paying 500 VC to unlock rotation control in MyGM mode, think of it as playing a single game to earn that ability. Because that's all it really is. Otherwise you just want a cheat code in order to have everything right off the bat with no work put in. Which is fine. Some people like that. Others want to build up. Every one plays different.

What if the rotations unlocked after five games in MyGM mode instead of costing VC? What if you couldn't have full access to all of the talents until you achieved certain things -- IE sign three players via free agency before you rank up in your salary negotiator talents? It's just a different bar to clear. The most streamlined way for them to go about doing this is by making everything run on a single currency -- named VC -- and making essentially everything give you said VC by playing the game.

I get it's not readily available when you pop in the disk, but 2K literally gives you 5K VC immediately. It's a rank up system. Progressive with RPG elements. Yes, you have to play the game to earn VC to get full access to the features the game has implemented. I just really struggle to see what the big deal is, personally, because I enjoy playing the game.

I understand what your saying, and it would be a lot easier to look at VC in a way of playing the game if it wasn't so easy to get as just opening your wallet.

I haven't played 2k14 but in 2k13 people were leaving their games on in coach mode just to get VC to better their player and get them the equipment they wanted. I did that a few times and there was no fun in that. It shouldn't be a grind to get VC to just buy accessories for your player.

When you were first able to have a contract in My Player I was really excited cause again it added to the realism of the game only to be disappointed that for your contract you were paid in VC

Does anybody think VC came about because the game is becoming more expensive to make? The legends alone had to up production costs a little right? So mayb their options were up the price or put something like this in. I mean it is still technically optional whether you buy it or not. Im sure a lot of people still dont buy it. I know i don't but I see why they may have added this feature

The game sold more than twice the amount of copies with 2K13 compared to 2K10 and the trend continues. You can't believe people are buying VC worth more than 3 million sold copies of the game. And it's not optional. You can't opt out of the VC race, it's there whether you want it or not. The game is still going to remind you every chance it gets that you could just buy that upgrade with real money.

The game sold more than twice the amount of copies with 2K13 compared to 2K10 and the trend continues. You can't believe people are buying VC worth more than 3 million sold copies of the game. And it's not optional. You can't opt out of the VC race, it's there whether you want it or not. The game is still going to remind you every chance it gets that you could just buy that upgrade with real money.

If someone can't resist a compulsion that's a personal problem.

Does anyone have a list of ways to earn vc? Sucks in gm mode u don't get it by simming and have to play with 82 games.

2k are using the logic of free game for IOS...

You're not Mitch Kupchak you're a brand new GM who has growing to do. The thing costs 500 VC. Play one game of the exquisite product they've made. Use some of the 5k they give just for making your MyPlayer.

You should have more options in your poll. I can't say yes cause I could do without it and have something else instead, but I don't mind it.
And I can't choose no, since I don't really mind it

A "Doesn't matter" option would be nice.

speechless. so glad i'm sticking with current gen, i don't give a damn about graphics if 2k is ruining the core of my beloved franchise mode with this new ugly MyVC direction

I think VC could have a place in NBA 2K, but most certainly not in the manner they've provided. Spending coins to level up a general manager just does not mesh with a real life simulation, in my opinion.

VC is just XP (Experience Points). Points accrued by playing the game. I think 2k's decision to call it "virtual currency" gives it a more negative connotation than it really should have. It's one of those factors key to the RPG elements of the game (i.e. leveling up, unlocking stuff, etc).

Now, just like any other game with unlockables and levels to climb, you'll have people who want to do it at any cost as fast as possible. And here is why you have "Purchase VC" right there on the main menu.

I haven't played much of the console version of 2k14 or next gen 2k14 at all but going off of 2k13, they could have been a bit more generous on the amount of VC that was handed out. But between playing the games, the online game, and the mobile game, and strategically playing the market in myTeam, I had a pretty steady flow of VC coming in.

Nah, as an RPG player, VC and XP are completely different in that VC is not only available for purchase to cut corners, but it's advertised and frequently flaunted in your face that you could openly cut these corners. In 90% of the RPGs that allow for purchasing XP, the option is usually underneath layers of 'extras' and 'options' menus. And even then, XP is usually not available for purchase in the first place.

Not only that, but there are no full priced RPG games where you can buy VC. And if the game was balanced like it had no option to buy it, the rewards you would get for the mode would be a lot bigger.

I'm getting the game with my xbox 1. Before you PS4 guys started digging into the MyGM it was the first mode on my priority list. Now it's 3rd (being that MYTEAM is ridiculous prices!!) I can't believe they are doing this to us, right in front of our very eyes. Sad thing is, I seen 2 seconds of live and crossed that right off the list, so 2k still has me.
