    That is not the point.....

The point is that you basically cannot get deep into all 3 modes (My GM, MyCareer, and MyTeam) due to VC, unless you no life this game.

It costs like 1500 VC just to buy a suit for MyCareer.....

TBH, with the VC system in MyGM, they're just making you use up VC to buy access to stuff that you wouldn't have access to if you were an actual GM. A GM doesn't get to change the rotation or set the ticket prices IRL.

Don't own next gen yet but this development is horrifying to me. My stomach dropped when I read about it.

Putting GM mode functions behind walls (even if they are small ones) runs directly counter to the idea of consumer-friendliness. They are roadblocking functionality that has been a staple of sports video games going back to the NES and the Commodore 64.

This is a terrible, awful development and a sad day for gamers everywhere.

Everyone do yourselves a favor and simulate to All Star Weekend so you can laugh (or cry) at the mistakes they made.

          1) The game has the All Star Weekend in Houston... its supposed to be in New Orleans.

          2) When you play the actual All Star Game the court shows All Star Houston 2013.

This is something that should be very simple and it is this lack of attention to detail that is so frustrating.

          Can I vote no again?

Yeah, most of the RPGs that I see that allow for purchasing XP are more difficult Japanese RPGs and so on.

I don't think people are displeased with an inability to change rotations due to a lack of VC, but the fact that buying that changing rotations upgrade most definitely takes away from the pool of VC with which you could buy upgrades that improve other facets of gameplay (seeing how all of the coaching types seem to offer discounts on different types of purchases, I don't think it'd be too big of a jump to say that VC has a big role this year).

There is nothing to laugh or cry at.
Until 2014 ASG court & jerseys are officialy released by NBA and unlocked in the game, you will use 2013 ones.
It has been always like this and couldn't be different.

So you're telling me GMs in real life are not allowed to fire Assistant GMs, Head Coaches, Scouters, etc? Because you also need to unlock those "abilities" by using VC too.

Simple solution... Take VC out or we boycott 2K, lol...

Doubt you guys would be willing to go that far, but what if they don't budge?
                  What if VC stays?
What if they continue to strip features?
What if EA never makes good competition again? Lol

I vote VC out of course...I understand upgrades for replay value, but the GM isn't even the coach so I don't understand why they would need VC to unlock lineups. Unless the GM & coach are separate & the GM needs the coach upgrade to change/influence the lineup. Either way, not a smart move

I honestly don't see the big deal. You earn VC by playing the game you were already going to play. An 82 game season you can accumulate what? 41,000 VC? Especially if you want to play multiple seasons, it shouldn't be an issue at all. To people saying VC shouldn't be in the mode, how else would you purchase upgrades? And you are starting out as a brand new GM, so it's not like you are an established, veteran GM who makes these types of decisions any time. Imagine some GM taking the job and the same day telling the coach to completely redo his rotation, how long would that guy last? He sure wouldn't get along with his staff being so hands on from day one.

If this MyGM were a seperate, stand-alone mode and Association mode still existed, then fine, whatever.

But to leave the game without a mode where you can control your team from the outset and guide it over the course of several seasons -- that is completely counter to the last 25 years of sports game development. It's a sharp, stinging slap in the face to their customers.

Roster/lineup control goes back to games like Baseball Stars and Super Tecmo Bowl. For them to take it out of the game unless you jump through these RPG hoops is incredible to me.

I've bought this game at release for the better part of a decade and every year it takes up more than 50 percent of my time spent gaming. I've spent many, many hours talking this game up on these forums and applauding its depth over the years.

But I won't buy this product until this decision is reversed. It's awful, awful, awful.

I couldn't agree more. You can't even do simple stuff like play the game offline. So whenever the 2K servers are down, you're out of luck.

The problem isn't really with VC...it's that we don't have any option to not use it.

What you said actually makes a lot of sense and you made me lighten up on the idea...you're right, are a beginner, this is true. But to cap a sim basketball game the way they've done is a little absurd. It's a sports game not an RPG...And if it's going to be RPG like, then attributes should fluctuate based on performance and consistency rating. If I make a blockbuster trade as a GM. I should get a boost if I got the better end of th deal.

If I want to add a headband in a sports game, no way I should have to unlock or pay unless it's not a standard color (army fatigue, pattern, etc)

They COULD give the option of turning VC off
They COULD give us the option of Season, Franchise & GM mode.

Just bring Association Mode back and before you start let the player pick between Season (barebones) Franchise (my gm w/o conversations or vc or upgrades) or GM mode (upgrades, conversations, post conferences & vc) This opens the game up for EVERYBODY....2K should hire me...lol
