Not sure if this has been mentioned but the ability to change body types. Some players, especially the classic teams, are too skinny. eg Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Horace Grant just to name a few from bulls teams..

Re: Official NBA2K14 NextGen Patch Request
Problem: Can't take control of an off-ball player on offense during a regular, head to head game.
I want to take control of a jump shooter (off ball), call for a screen, get to my player's sweet spot on the court, call for the ball (if I got open from the screen), and drain a wide-open shot.
This is sorely needed at this stage in time.
Mike Wang put this into NBA Live 10, and it's overdue in 2k. EA might own "the code" for however it worked (properly), but EA does not own this basketball fundamental.
This thread is for actual bugs and issues that need to be fixed, not adding things that never existed in the series and don't make sense as far as the game is concerned
If you want to play off ball, just play as a player locked player and call for the ballComment

Whatt??? Has this ever been in a 2k?

It wasn't about deflecting action, or sitting back, quite the contrary. I did it to take some seriously vengeful offense on someone.
I'd take control of a slasher, call for a pick, get open, call for the ball, and run down the lane for a dunk.
I'd take control of Ray Allen (or any 3-point shooter) call for a screen, call for the rock and drain an open one.
If I was on a fast break, I'd turn into the trailing PF, run to the hoop and call for the alley-oop.
What's sicker than having that much control? Nothing. Problem is, the features haven't worked as admitted as such by a 2k rep when I wrote them about it a few years back. It might appear a seemingly trivial matter, but once you see it, it opens up everything.Last edited by bakesalee; 12-15-2013, 04:35 PM.Comment

Re: Official NBA2K14 NextGen Patch Request
Can we have the option to edit our MyPLAYERs IN MyCAREER so I can change my number among many things? I feel the edit player option shouldn't only be on the features menu, and it would be nice to have the option to change my number since after I was traded (and I DIDN'T even request it), it gave me a really stupid number (36 as a point guard, I started off wearing 1).
Is there any way to change your number after your MyCAREER starts? If not, I think the option should be there...Comment

Originally posted by Khaos_KiwiDo plays not work properly for everyone else in MyCareer too? It's just they seem to break extremely often, and even with full play art on, the plays only initiate when you're standing on a particular point on the floor (not like 2k13 where it would tell you where to go as soon as you move past half-court).
The weird thing is, plays run perfectly in the team scrimmage games. I'm a shooting guard and in the scrimmage we finally run plays that send me off multiple screens for open looks, something that never happens in the actual games.
Hopefully it's a bug that 2k's aware of and can be fixed in a patch
Sometimes they show up but always break, or they run but without the play art.
This really needs to get fixed. Just running freelance offense makes MyCareer a real tiresome experience. What we know so far about NBA 2K14 - FAQ/QA:

Re: Official NBA2K14 NextGen Patch Request
I would love to see the ability to restart (or delete, or even rename) your team in the My Team mode. When I first got the game I put in a bogus team name figuring I'd just kill it later when I decided to really do one. Now I'm stuck with it. Sucks big time. This is a MASSIVE oversight.Comment

Re: Official NBA2K14 NextGen Patch Request
I'd personally love for an option for when you put the disk in the tray a prompt to start NBA 2K14 it needs to have a Yes/No prompt. Then if you click yes it should start loading the content on the disk and you should be able to use a controller or other device to navigate throughout menus on the disk. I really think as fun as navigating the menus at this point is it would be great if they could add some features like playing the game without it kicking you out, crashing your console, stealing your VC, deleting your saves etc. That would be awesome I hope 2K read this!Comment

Re: Official NBA2K14 NextGen Patch Request
I've defended this game for a long time but I've encountered an issue that makes it unplayable (not in the way that most people say, in the literal way) for me. Note: It was NOT like this at launch There is now SIGNIFICANT input lag online on the PS4. I believe it carries over to XBone but I haven't played that system. This manifests with very delayed response times to the button input. I cannot defend or shoot because the player takes about .5 sec to actually respond to my prompt via button push.
Offensive examples: If I want to shoot a midrange jumper with someone who doesn't have a quick release I have no way of gauging how long to push the button to account for the lag (and honestly I shouldn't have to). I end up missing with an awful release. I'm most successful with players who have naturally quick releases because I guess they are more forgiving with respect to the lag. Can't make precise passes because it passes AFTER the opening has closed due to the lag. Can't beat anyone off the dribble because the holes/angle I see are already gone after I execute a move.
Defensive examples: I cannot keep up with the ball-handler. Forced to give the dribbler too much room and sacrifice the jumpsnot because I know I can't react to the dribble or force the issue without ending up out of position. I can't rebound, block or do anything that requires timing and/or anticipation. I'm steps behind by default.
Note all of the above is about online play (park/play w friends/ quick match). Other users say this has been a problem for weeks. I only recently encountered it last week and it is terrible. I play about 70% online (Play with Friends and Park) and 30%offline. I don't appreciate paying full price for 1/3 of a game.

Not only am i having input lag, there is also a certain amount of jerkiness that wasn't present for me at least until about a week ago. Now, a problem that used to be only during timeouts happens in game as well. The jersey flutters, I'm saying it's fluttering to the point I can't take it! Some fluttering during certain cutscenes is well, ok, I can deal with it, but now during actual gameplay is just not acceptable. I think is probably the 1st time I have posted on the internet about a issue with a video game, but, this just annoys the heck out of me!I'm a diehard St. Louis Cardinals Fan!! Re: Official NBA2K14 NextGen Patch Request
Could someone help. I bought Nba 2k14 for my younger brother for Christmas, he's never played it before but loves the NBA so i thought i would get it for him I've never played it. How do you download the patch that they release. Do you do it manually or does the system prompt you to download it.
Thanks, any help would be appreciatedComment

Re: Official NBA2K14 NextGen Patch Request
1) alley-oops seem to be broken
2) please re-allow accessories to be layered. It's weird they are layered on some CPU players, but u can't manually do it on your MyPlayer. Along those lines, for some reason there is an accessory in game (the long legging knee pads that stop just above socks) that for some reason isn't available for MyPlayer.
3) when u pay for and apply the arena sounds for various effects in MyCareer (like a dunk, three pointer, block, etc) they don't seem to ever trigger during game situations.
4) too many injuries are occurring to star players in MyCareer and they last longer than the player is supposed to be out. For example playing with nets both Humphries and Lopez were injured over a month before my first season ended with injuries that said they would be available in 2 weeks. I finished the season, playoffs, off season, and am now 7 games into next season, and they're still out with "2 weeks" to go. And after getting Deron Williams back finally, 5 games later he's injured and out for the season.
5) players automatically attempt far to many bank shots. Along with this have seen too many shots miss everything except slamming off the backboard when they have excellent release and an A rating from mid range where I'm a 90 rating.Comment
