Re: points in the paint?
Most annoying thing is when CPU players run plays and my teammates get caught up leaving open shots. I know this is rarely and partly my fault but it's a little annoying when I want to get some stops. Also anyone notice how fast the CPU rotates in defense when you're under the basket. It's like it knows exactly when you're going to pass and shoot.
I love those wrap around bounce passes when running pick and rolls tho they're so BEAUTIFUL to my eyes.LETS GO CHICAGO BULLS !!!!

Re: points in the paint?
You're not playing 12minQT so that's why you don't have 50pip. For the amount of time you play your pip is high.
I was the 76ers in this game, all star, simulation sliders. I got my *** kicked, and the Mavs put up a ton of points on me, but I held them to 40 PIP..
Should have been less, but they got a few ridiculous offensive board put backs. This is just one example of how you can prevent the CPU from scoring the insane amount of points down low you guys are experiencing

Re: points in the paint?
You couldn't be more wrong. I could play on 20 minute quarters and I guarantee with my life that I wouldn't be giving up 70-80 PIP, especially on the pro setting.Comment

Re: points in the paint?
I'm going off your screenshot. Then I saw another screenshot with you playing more mins and it's still the same. You have league lows in almost everything because you don't play enough mins for the slider set you're using.Comment

Re: points in the paint?
I play 12 minute quarters on default sim and through the 20 games that I've actually played I'm giving up 46.3 PiP per game. This is with New Orleans and i've had Davis injured once and Smith injured twice.
I've given up 60 PiP twice, and more than 50 quite a few times also. On the flip side I've given up as low as 34 and have given up less than 40 more times than 55+.
I don't always play on ball D. I normally only switch one time per possession, but I don't have any House Rules or anything. With a few slider tweaks this wouldn't be that bad for me.

Re: points in the paint?
I boosted up to HOF and still not having a problem with points in the paint. I wrote before but see if I can explain it better.
If the defender is outside the arc, stay in distance (if a shooter) that you could deny the shot. This means just using the hands in face d, or anticipating the shot (block). When you see his rhythm, and you feel he might drive is when you trigger intense defense. If he doesn't go then let go of it. Use the movement stick in SMALL adjustments to not over commit. Your movements should be diagonal when cutting the player off. Don't try to make a b line straight for them.
If you get beat, switch to the helping defender just to get them in position. If the guy is on the wing and a competent shooter, switch back to your original player and turbo into position.
I use the hot button player switch or whatever it is.
Honestly I don't see the points in paint that you guys are seeing and I'm using 12 min quarters with no adjustment to tendencies.
You guys getting roasted for 60+ should post some gameplay of your defense and maybe others could help you. In previous years I felt like it was impossible to stop the paint spam but this years I'm not having an issue at all.5Comment

Re: points in the paint?
They're not going to post video of their defense BC they don't want to accept the truth that this is predominantly a user issue. You can expect to say that simply BC you have Faried that you're promised rebounds. The suggestions given to resolve this were excellent. Everyone's concept of simulation is really simply just winning on your terms with pre determined/conceived notions of what you believe happens every night. Dwight doesn't get a double double every night. The CPU shouldn't have a "cap" on getting points in the paint. Accept the advice you're getting or change the sliders. Begging for patches is so overblown on this website.Comment

Faried should not be standing there and letting Chuck Hayes slide him over and get rebounds...They're not going to post video of their defense BC they don't want to accept the truth that this is predominantly a user issue. Re: points in the paint?
while like I said I am giving up an average of like 74 points in the paint in 5 games and the nba average is like 40. I play has the lakers and yes there defise sucks but I can tell you one thing they are not giving up no 74 on average a game and I don't know how anyone can say this is not a problem it is the biggest problem when it comes to gameplay in the game. What is even worse is that again I now a lot about the nba and I try defferent things. If I didn't know anything about the nba and if I didn't try different things I would probly be giving up an average of like 100 in the paint no lie. The one that has posted phots on hear form his games dosnt have has big of a issue has I do how ever with the amont of minutes you are playing if you where playing 12 minutes you would be giving up like 60 a game witch is still to many.Comment

Re: points in the paint?
I'm sorry but I have to agree completely with dipset. I'm going to have to post some screenshots, because I haven't had any issue with points in the paint. I actually remember having a game giving up 30-35 PIP last time I played (against the Kings).Comment

Re: points in the paint?
Concerning the sliding issue on rebounding yeah that is real. The game is coded a certain way to make better rebounders better by either sliding one player out of the way or it makes one player don't jump when they should have jumped. The rebounds are pretty much decided as the shot goes up. Some of this will get magnified when you play against the CPU as they know where the boards are going. I will say I am not giving up a really high points in the paint but the type of points in the paint I am giving up are so unrealistic.
- Block the CPU, CPU gets the ball for easy layup.
- Double team baseline the CPU does some warp pass between multiple people or dump off pass. If they dont warp through me
- Bump, bump, warp, slide off for a layup
- bump, bump, stumble, dump off pass in heavy traffic.
- Offensive rebounds when my guys are not jumping while clearly in position, or if I jump the other CPU teammate doesn't jump as the CPU just sticks their arm out for an "easy" rebound

Re: points in the paint?
I moved Defensive Assist to 0 and it seems to have helped. Here's the Box Score from my last two games:
I'm the Pels

All Star Weekend. I was the "Rookie Stars" but the teams weren't really separated into Rookie and Sophomores or by Conference or anything. My PiP are high because I had Anthony Davis and Andre Drummond dominating them inside.
