This whole parsing of language - he lied! no I didn't! - is becoming a sideshow.

Marketing people represent and set expectations for the product. They set the hype meter high and left out a ton of information they knew would be relevant to many loyal customers.

The product is flawed, limited and (with VC) gougingly disrespectful and a bit exploitative to people who used to have those features included in their $60. Very many knowledgeable, loyal customers, who have been prime targets for the all the marketing, are unhappy, some pretty pissed.

That's it. That's all of it. LD2k, I get you want to defend your name here, as you're taking heat. You don't make the game, it's your job to promote it in the best possible light, and you did. But the bigger problem, for 2k, is a market, credibility and product problem. It's not really about you, but the stuff flying off the fan is coming at you because you're the public, personal face who set the expectations bar and omitted a lot of relevant info (aka, did your job).

No one here wants to hurl monkey poo at you. They just want the product to be better. They want the new modes to be reliably playable. They want historically core, popular features back that differentiated your product as the standard for sports games in the past (along with MLB The Show). And they want, at this point, a better response than "we're listening." It's not personal. It's business.

Meanwhile, more and more sites out there are catching up to the VC issue. I'm sure you've seen Reddit. You've got a problem there that will continue to spread if not addressed.

And guys, let's remember the rules, treat LD2k with respect (he doesn't have to post or visit), and for that matter, keep treating each other with respect.

The marketing arm doesn't have a presence (either here or on Twitter) out some profound sense of obligation. The company has a game to sell and here they are, bottom line. In the end, the way things have been handled has been nothing short of baffling. You put out these kinds of fires and even foster good will by being honest, understanding and timely with your response. The best example I can think of right now is the Motorola failure during the holiday weekend leading in to Cyber Monday. It was a colossal mess. They handled it by getting on top the narrative, admitting their mistakes and expressing their desire to deliver on what they envisioned. It's a simple way to approach issues and it effectively pulls you out of the fire. Its never advisable to allow these things to fester. People start to speculate, feel like they aren't being heard and they dial up the hyperbole to get attention. By then even if you do address the problem folks have lost faith in you.

VC is ruining this game. Accessories that we used to get already has to be purchased with VC. Ok you know what I will accept that BUT its not that simple. You wanna buy knee pads ? you have to purchase one for both knees, two transactions. Wait what you want the white color for home and the black color for away ? you have to purchase the colors separate. Thats four separate transactions. UTTER BS. Taking stuff away from us then making it a grind to get them back unless we decide to cough up more money. I paid $60 plus tax for the game, I expect the full game at launch. You cant take stuff away then charge the same price, its a slap in the face to fans that have supported this series. VC is ruining this game. I just hope they scale back on it because at the rate they are going the game will be unplayable outside of quick matches if you dont buy VC.

EDIT: havent started a myGM but read you have to spend VC to set your rotations in the mode. complete joke.

Okay, this is a flat out lie. You have a very good, compelling argument and you talk a lot of sense with your overall point, but this part is complete crap and it taints your point. It makes it harder to get things accomplished if people are going to make up crap or assume crap that isn't factually correct by just spewing things to make the situation out to be worse than what it might actually be. Everybody's opinions get's swept aside when there are people completely making up stuff to make a point.

Every accessory in that shop is sold as a pair. You buy it once and you have it for both arms and legs. Don't dilute the issue by tossing out nonsense.

That's good to know. Is it true colors have to be purchased individually for each accessory (though they'd come for both legs collectively)? That sounds absolutely awful.

Yes, that part is accurate. I understand both sides of the coin for that, in the idea that you would realistically go out and buy more than one color of a headband or arm sleeve or whatever. That sort of makes sense. However, what I don't like and am further turned off by VC about, is the fact that the color selections available are fewer on the cheapest gear. That's not right for 2K to pull that garbage.

For example the regular padded and non-padded arm sleeve goes for 1200 VC (ridiculous already) but it only comes in black, red, blue and white. Meanwhile the Adidas techfit sleeve costs 4500 and comes in black, blue, brown, green, grey, dark purple, navy blue, orange, pink, purple, red, white and yellow. Then there is the Dwight Howard Adidas Powerweb sleeve, that costs 5000 and has 18 different color combos. That is a business practice that needs to be eliminated from this game IMO.

i'm at the point, with the terrible 2k support responses, that i'm going to start pushing for a full refund.

this is such, such BS. seriously, it's not my job to troubleshoot this. i shouldn't have to 'try to format my ps4' to see if the game i purchased decides to work again. i shouldn't have to create a new 2nd PSN account to see if the game i purchased works. just admit that it's broken and that devs are working on fixing it instead of giving me canned responses. refund me money i've paid for VC on a save file that won't work, no questions asked. ridiculous, especially since they can delete the refunded save file from their servers to prevent me from reusing it if they're worried about fraudulent refunds.

perhaps instead of trying to rush out a broken next gen game they should've just ported / improved current gen and spent 2 years developing behind the scenes.

instead of hearing about solutions being worked on we're getting generic BS from ronnie/ld2k 'oh well we're seeing a huge uptick in mycareer activity so patch must be working !! ;P'.

Your right I mistook you have to equip it on each knee as purchasing it twice. No issue owning up to the mistake. But it wasn't some calculated attempt to lie like you were implying in your post. Call me out on my mistake, Dont make up your own assumptions on my intentions.

THIS is what upsets me the most. Anytime you report an issue all you hear is that "this is being looked into" or "we have passed it on to developers" but we never get any indication on if that is true or not. They have been getting more and more like that as the last few years have passed.
