the problem here is that unrealistic play is rewarded. there are hardly any offensive fouls called even for those players who do nothing but spam turbo into the paint. everyone gives this game a ton of credit for being so close to the real thing but what you just described is the complete opposite. you get penalized for playing good defense and rewarded for playing bad offense. i have yet to see a single charge called in nba 2k14 online or offline. that says something.

I disagree. I have been called for charges several times and this is coming from a person who plays an athletic point guard style. The thing that you and this other guy are incapable of accepting is that fouls now play a factor. Before it was you could do as this OP is and run a 2-3 zone and dominate. He'll say "shoot 3's!" but contested shots even with all the skills and excellent releases hardly fall. Or he'll say "backdoor cuts!" but any little collision.. I mean toes touching even causes some huge animation lock that makes it feel like your player was in the NFL being blocked.

There's nothing wrong with fouls at all. Your problem only occurs online because most people that play online do not play legit team basketball or run plays and do all that they can to drive the ball into the paint or shoot 3s. According to 2K the most used team online is the Heat - when you give casual players, hell even sim players Lebron, they're going to want to drive into the paint. More driving in equates to more foul shots, simple as that. That's just how people play the game. Nothing wrong with it unless you want there to be a problem. Face it, the majority of the time you play online you're not going to get as realistic experience as you would offline or against other simheads. This is just a product of that.

Taking advantage of bad calls is playing smart.

I think 2K needs to fix their advertised on disk features and maybe for the mean time use an OS slider set for online. Just for adjustments. There's no such thing as "too much fouls" cause it varies game to game. Too little is possible, but too much, I don't thinks so.

The San Antonio Spurs average 16.4 free throws per game, and that is the lowest total in the league this year:

The foul numbers are fine in NBA 2K14. If anything, there are probably too few fouls, if you are comparing the game to what happens in the real NBA.

No no no there is definetly an issue, the CPU will purposely drive and get the foul before the shot clock, it's just too much.

A real life player wouldn't do this too? How is this wrong and not good basketball?

The fouls are too high on sim sliders. They have shooting fouls at like 80. I can get a big man in foul trouble every other game with Aldridge and the CPU's AI for foul trouble is poor. Turn it to 65 and its much better. The charging calls are much better than CG though.

Because there are a ton of fouls in the NBA.

In past years, you'd be lucky to get to the line. Now, I'm getting realistic results on both teams in 12 minute quarters. Last night, Ty Lawson got to the line 12 times against me. It happens.

Completely agree. I hope they don't change this and mess it up. I'm glad fouls are actually being called.

If I play a playoff series against the T-Wolves Love will face foul trouble in almost every game with default sim sliders. Thats right there tells me its too high. There are just too many bail out calls. Its not the number of fouls its the bail out fouls and the calls where a guy goes straight up.
