I'm really hoping this gets solved by the time I get to the playoffs. It's ridiculous how they couldn't just churn out a patch real quick solving both this and the contract negotiation problems.

I agree. I not sure how this type of thing got missed in house. Of course the sample size is much smaller, but I think that we just passed patch # 3 and I doubt that this was not an issue they did not have previously.

I am going to go and try the fixes referred to in this thread.

It looks like this error was created by patch 3. There were no reports of it before that and I got through 3 seasons playing 20 or so games each before it hit me. But the pacth came out I think 12/19, and I got bit by it on, I think, 12/23.

They were in such a rush to get patch 3 out to fix other problems breaking the game so they missed this. Plus they added some MyGM fixes we actually asked for here at OS, such as tweaks to player morale in response to player roles, and that was great.

They came to our threads and worked specifically on what we asked for. The changes in morale also helped cut down the crazy number of CPU trades that made the CPU dump unhappy players under the weak trade AI logic system, which made the CPU sell pearls for mud on the trade market.

My guess is this error was from a piece of code that got broken during those or some other MyGM changes, and it got missed before the patch went out.

I just hope it gets patched soon. Like by the end of the month.

That patch has definitely caused all these myGM errors.

It's not the server as I tried to start a new season while not online connected and my save file kept getting corrupted.

Happened to me last night.
I searched everywhere for a fix or workaround and found someone suggesting to resign your position. Then pick one of the teams its stuck on. Sim that day then resign that team and pick your original team.

I was pretty leary of trying it but I also didnt feel like waiting for 2k to get this resolved seeing as I havent seen anywhere that they even aknowledge that they are aware the problem exists let alone are working on a fix.

it does get you unstuck but when you pick a new team it sims to the end of the playoffs to the offseason. I was thinking ok that sucks but at least im not stuck anymore and can do the signings and draft and what not. Unfortunatly once you resign that team and pick your original team it sims the whole offseason and you begin at the first game of the next season.

hope this helps anyone else know what to expect if they try this method.

I can verify this, but I ran a test first with a dummy MyGM save file. Took it to the playoffs, resigned my position, then resigned that position to go back.

In my interim landing spot, I could have run the offseason, including the draft. But when I boomeranged back to my starting franchise, the system simmed through the offseason and it was back to season start.

For my 4 year MyGM franchise that is currently stuck, I want to conduct that draft, after scouting the whole year. So for me, I choose not to use this workaround and lose all that time I put into preparing for the off season.

That is not a solution. It robs you of playing the game as intended. I would rather wait for a patch. I put too much time into the save to lose the rest of the playoffs in that manner. And then miss out on the draft and FA. I played all 82 games on 12 minute quarters. And all six games of the first round.

Im definetly not saying its a solution. I read this method and thought it may be one but as I said it ripped me of the playoffs and the offseason.
I just wanted to say what happens in case someone was thinking of trying it.

Im fairly disappointed that I tried it. I had positioned myself thru trades to draft wiggins. Once I got back to my team they drafted marcus smart instead.

Unfortunatly it was my only save so season 2 is where im at. Im over it now but trust me the explitives were flyin last night.

I am a tad bit grumpy about this. I thought my playoffs were backed up to the servers and they were not. So I deleted the file to download it from the servers and it was not there...
alas, I must start from scratch... I will wait for the patch before I go into the playoffs again.

For the people who made it this far (to the playoffs I mean), how were you able to make it without having the file corruption problems that appear to be affecting to many people?

I have the game for ps4, and started a my gm and have only played one day, bu am now wondering if it's worth it to go back to, if the file opens, and if it does, am I just on borrowed time until one day it decides to corrupt?

I'm so early in my season I could easily play for a while before I'd hit the playoffs and hopefully there would be a patch by then.

I can't be sure, but it appears you won't hit the bug if you don't play the series ending game of your bracket as a user. If you sim the end of a given series, you may be ok.

No guarantees, though.

Thanks but I meant how were they able to get through the 82 game season without getting bit by the corrupt save file or the game just kicking them back to the main menu when they tried loading file during their regular season.

so i wasnt the only one stuck after 82 games and 5 first round games ....stupid stuff man ..my morale is down regarding 2k ..no leagues ..mygm crashes i dont mess with my career or my team ..whats left for a dedicated player except quick matches ?? online is laggy like mfér ...tssss i feel like i got conned here ..its probably a tactical bug to have us play myplayer and buy VC ....i havent spent one VC and ill be damned if i buy some ...deeply dissapointed this year ..**** 2k nex gen its useless for now ....
