Then why post in this thread? You literally have nothing to add to the topic, and are unaffected by it.

*sigh* what did I say to the situation? I made a freaking comment about Pastapadre and because I'm the one making the comment it apparently flips some of you out, laughably.

If I do decide to get an XB1 the only launch game that interests me is NBA2K14. So of course I'm going to follow the situation.

Which still doesn't answer the question. Why are you even posting in this thread. You're unaffected and have no experience with this situation, other than to try to discredit Pasta and defend 2k.

I am not sure why you're trying to the the victim here.

What exactly is calling out spankdat for being 'biased' contributing to the thread besides sparking yet another meaningless e-debate?

            Glass house...

and yes, Pasta does have a history of chomping at the bit to criticize 2k but he's 100% right in this article...hope the criticism keeps on coming...

????? Yes, somehow making a single freaking comment about Pastapadre was my azz-backwards nonsensical attempt at making the thread about myself and it somehow worked. Unfortunately I found out too late I'm restricted from making a comment in the forum, even when I purposely didn't try to discredit the subject of the thread or try to sidetrack the thread itself. [/sarcasm]

Didn't want to comment again but it's ridiculous I was trying to make the thread about myself. Guess I should've given a disclaimer, because there are many people commenting directly about their displeasure regarding the situation even when they don't own the game, and commenting in multiple threads. Either way it really wasn't my intention to offend some of you guys' sensibilities, but believe whatever you want.

Can someone explain to me what the benefit of this would have been had the online requirement and saving files to the servers worked properly?

No benefit to the consumers, only to the company.

Whoa, the game and its spokespeople are getting positively HAMMERED on twitter.

Makes the criticisms here on the OS forums look like

That's what I thought. Says a lot of where 2k has gone.

And as the mangled launches of Diablo III in 2012 and SimCity this year showed, nothing infuriates gamers like being told they can't play a game's solo mode because of a publisher's online prerogatives.
The problems hounding NBA 2K14 are both typically 2K Sports—the server failures—and also very unlike the label—the Virtual Currency debacle. 2K Sports, until very recently, prided itself on putting everything on the disc. Sixty dollars bought you the full experience. That changed incrementally—historic teams here, All-Star Weekend contests there—over the past two years. Now the series seems to have sunk both fists into the molasses, monetizing everything from a created player's clothing to how a general manager makes strategic choices.

For more than a decade this franchise has been one of the best and most trusted names in sports video gaming. NBA 2K has faced its own shortcomings every year—every series does—but these things were smoothed over largely with the benefit of the doubt the game had earned from a reputation for high quality and fair treatment. The past six weeks have shown how quickly that can be depleted.

I don't care if I have to deal with VC. I just want to play the game!

The ONLY benefit would have been making sure hacked players do not get into the park. Thats it. Is that alone worth it ? NO NOT AT ALL
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.
