you do realize that these 1,000 signatures are such a minuscule fraction of Take Two's total sales of NBA 2K14, right?

Over 111,000 copies of 2K were sold on PS4 alone in the 2 days after the PS4's release. With those numbers alone, this petition accounts for about 0.009% of those copies. Now, account for Xbox One, 360, PS3, and every copy sold since the PS4 release. You're looking at an even smaller number. 1,000 signatures won't bother Take Two.

A diligent law firm who would more than likely take this case on contingency would find ways to contact buyers outside of those who are listed on the original petition.

Wouldn't you for millions of dollars?

what I find funny is the ppl that are defending 2K in this thread are the same ppl that trolled NBA live section and talk crap about their game. These ppl are just fanboys and will never see a wrong with 2K and will always think the company is doing the right thing. How about you all go back to the Live forums and troll that section while we complain here so the product becomes better.

The signatures are definitely not stopping at 1,000.

Re: Should we sue 2k sports????

nuckles2k2: You mentioned server and freezing issues, but you're leaving out the worst offense from 2K here which is all the purchased VC that's gone down the drain.

I play EA's NHL games and I've been on their forums a lot, and if you look at the Ultimate Team community for that game you'll see that EA has built a bad reputation: lost players and complaints about not having enough value in packs are common. But even EA hasn't completely shut out players who bought post-release content.

2K's mishandling of the VC situation has been the worst a gaming company has ever treated micro-transactions. Ever.

I don't believe 2K needs to be sued to send them a serious message. I don't even know what would come out of that situation. But I encourage everyone to sign the petition on change.org, because there are several valid complaints here and 2K needs to do something.

It's more impressive when you consider this has all happened in maybe 72 hours over a holiday period when people spend less time online.

That's a decent proof of concept for a contingency based class action firm to see a payday at the end.

It wouldn't recover a ton of money for game buyers, but it would accomplish two things: bad publicity for 2K, expenses to defend the suit, and lost future earning of game sales due to bad publicity and loss of investor confidence.

Take-Two is publicly traded and investors will react to the stock price accordingly. Executives with stock option care about that very personally. It's why they forced this short sighted, stupid, greed based cluster of VC and always online in the first place.

Re: Should we sue 2k sports????

The way I see it, we deserve some sort of compensation.

This isn't like Call of Duty, or Forza, BF, etc, where there's season passes and dlc's that we could get. And at this point, free VC is a slap in the face. No one wants to play stacked MyTeams and MyPlayers so free VC is just going to unbalance the game.

We deserve refunds. Full refunds to anyone who doesn't want the game, and partial refunds to people who want to keep it.

How much we get back is up to 2K, but it would show they're sorry for this mess right now.

I personally lost 3 MyCareer's and $20 worth of VC, so I'm about as fed up with this game right now as possible; the lack of support from 2k support is laughable at this point. Please allow 24-48 hours for them to get back to me...2 weeks later. Nothing.

If we could play these modes offline it wouldn't be a problem, but wait, 2K needs that money from the VC so we always gotta be online. Only problem is their servers are running on dial-up internet from 2001.

Why not just accept you lost money this year and not buy it next year until it's been assured all the kinks are gone?

You can just go around sueing people because of bum deals. Don't you have some sort of consumer beureau that handles things like this better than a lawsuit?

This is a terrible suggestion. I value my money and it's not something I can afford to waste, especially on something I'm doing for fun.

Check out the change.org link posted on previous pages, the author wrote that 2K was ignoring complaints received from the Better Business Bureau.

Because that ain't how life works. You don't accept unacceptable things.

I don't think anyone here expects $1000 from 2K, and honestly a lot don't even care about the money..

It's the fact that they're ignoring people's problems and directing all of our complaints to 2Ksupport (who aren't even responding emails).

At a certain point they OWE us our money back, they put out a broken game and like anything else that's broken we should be able to return it.

Re: Should we sue 2k sports????

Wow really people you want to sue 2k for this? I refuse to sign a petition for something that they are still trying to fix. This whole thing with the VC is still confusing me, you don't have to buy VC to play the game because the more you play the more VC you get. Now I will agree the people that have lost VC deserves something for that and I am hoping 2k steps up and fixes that but honestly I think their focus is more on getting the game right. You all make it sound like they are just sitting back and laughing it up because they got your money. Really? We have had 3 patches already and the game has only been out a month and a half. Give them time people, does it suck, yet but its a NG game this was bound to happen.

Look 2k has fixed quite a bit of stuff but that has created more problems and I am sure they are working on it. Could they be more open about it, yet however that doesn't mean they don't care. Look the people that invest their lives to make these games for us have families as well and I am sure if you were in their shoes you would want to enjoy time with the family during the holidays. Give them this month to get it figured out seriously.

I am not saying don't sign the petition, everyone has a right to their own opinion but I just don't agree with it. I just wish people would quit jumping the gun and realize this stuff is gonna take time, I think to many people set the bar to high because of the success of the 2k games for current gen. I will state this however, if we go through this month without another update I will be disappointed and agree you all. But seriously I see another patch coming out to fix a lot of these issues and I hope they take care of the people that lost VC points as well.

I don't agree with the broken part though, is there issues that need to be fixed, yet but its not broken. I have been able to play 3 different GM modes with only minor issues since patch #3. The only issues was the 2 days I couldn't play because of the server issue and even though I will admit it was frustrating by far I refuse to let a game ruin my life because I couldn't play it. I found something else to do and then started playing again when it was back up and maybe that is the wrong attitude of me but I have been playing games for 30 years now between pc's and consoles, every game has its issue, there is no such thing as a perfect game.

Re: Should we sue 2k sports????

Folks in here are confusing buyer's remorse with an actionable issue.

The people complaining about the headbands that disappear in MyGM, the overpriced items in the MyPlayer store, the increased field goal percentages after the 3rd patch, the rosters reverting to the default ones, etc...

As long as those people exist, the argument that "the game is broken" will fall on deaf ears. They prove that it's not broken... it's just unbelievably flawed.

If it's flawed, it's up to 2K (with Take Two's blessing) to admit fault and offer some remedy.

Hell...I remember a 2K game (2K10, I believe) where they patched it for a final time, and that led to PFs and Cs hovering around the 3-pt line, and they would launch them if the ball ever got to them...we're not talking stretch 4s or 5s either...Shaq was out there waiting, and firing away.

Did we ever hear one single thing from 2K about this gaff? I don't remember one.

Was the game pretty ****** up? Yep.

The options were to delete the patches (and deal with any pre-patch issues) or rid yourself of it.

Like I keep saying, the folks who are having the freezing issues MIGHT have a case. But they'd be smart not to muddle up their claim with people who are disappointed with VC implementation, and server issues.

Freezing issues, after everything pertaining to the account has been removed from the console and they started fresh.

Server issues has to do with the service 2K provides. As long as the game is playable offline (started offline, not an online file that doesn't work offline) then I don't know how much of a case there really is..

2K definitely needs to answer for all of this, but if folks really want to go this legal route, then every little detail matters.

It's the 5 Ps. Proper preparation prevents poor performance.

And all I keep seeing in here is tons and tons of buyers remorse (we've all been there, and it sucks)

I had 3 MyCareers near an 80 overall. Clearly took a lot of time to get there.
Someone bought me a $20 card for Christmas so I spent it on VC.
All 3 of my files got corrupted. Thus losing $20.

I emailed 2K Support like 2 weeks ago, and they have yet to get back to me.

Can't play MyCareer to make a new guy because the servers keep going down. I can maybe play a game a day.

No, there's not a perfect game. Take Battlefield 4, I have that too. Sometimes the servers go down, but it only takes me like 5-10 minutes to get into a game. Not that bad.
On this game tho, you lose money, you lose files, you lose time. And best of all you don't even get a response on what they're doing to get your money and files back.

I fail to see how that's even remotely justifiable.

Actually, truthfully, no. The Better Business Bureau is toothless and the new federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has its plate completely full with the banks.

This is America. Civil suits are the only way to hold corporations even minimally responsible.
