sounds and atomosphere are the most important thing to sports games besides the actual gameplay imo

    needs a definite overhaul

Live's crowd is not good.. that's a weird myth still perpetuating from 6 years ago..

The 2K crowd could use work though for sure.

Arena-specific music and sound effects from the PA are on point tho.

You're on point about that. I'd also like to add that the crowd should show some love for the home team during the starting lineup introduction. They just cheer the same way they do when you're in the middle of running a play. I want to hear the crowd go insane when they hear Kobe or Lebron's name being called. Maybe some MVP chants for Curry (or the reigning MVP) too. And it's absolutely absurd that you need to score 30 points to get an MVP chant. 2K should make the highest rated player on each team receive the MVP chant on nearly all or all trips to the free throw line.

Lastly, I know it's asking for a bit much but it would be so great if we got all the PA announcers in real life. The Knicks announcer has so much passion saying Melo's name lol.

            Re: Improving Audio and Atmosphere

These sports games have comfort zones by the developers in certain parts of game. Its like they have a to do list and audio and atmosphere is not a part of that process. To me this area of the game and custom camera angles would allow me to get into their games more but have not been a priority unfortunately.

So 2k announced relocation and USA team (probably olympics)

I think we need to wait to 2k18 for better athmosphere, they are focused on different things what a shame...
              2k18 fixes

Bigs can cover to much ground on defense(they are too fast)

Late contest on laups matter too much.

              Random blocks doing pumpfakes.

Leaning shots for guys who have catch and shoot badge should be removed.

                Re: Improving Audio and Atmosphere

If there's one thing I wish 2k would fix, audio wise, that would be giving the classic teams back their arena sounds.

As it stands, they've been literally dead, generic shells for the last 4 years. Places like Chicago Stadium and The Forum feel empty without the organ music playing whilst teams bring the ball up & down the court.

The last time 2k had this almost perfect was in 2k12 - The classic teams had all their era respective in game arena music included. Now all we have for every one of the legends arenas is the generic 'CHARGE!' effect for the most part.

Kinda sucks the life out of the immersion.

Might be ignorant but I am about to use the, "They had it right on a previous generation so I don't understand why it is broken now" card.

College Hoops 2K8 had good atmosphere.

I am not exaggerating, I played the PLayoffs in 2K16 and there were times where the crowd was DEAD for those games. It made me not want to play. I played 65 games, simmed the rest, got a 4 seed with OKC. And I didn't care about the playoffs because the atmosphere was WEAK.

Agreed.. IMO having a strong crowd atmosphere from an audio perspective is far more important than "arena specific lighting". The lighting is a great addition, but I hope that crowd audio and court SFX were not neglected in the process.

There are very few things in sports that get you more immersed in the game than a strong atmosphere/environment. You could take a game like the Superbowl, remove the crowd and play in an empty stadium, and it would become boring to watch.

I had the opposite experience.. the playoff crowd was TOO loud and crazy.

The lack of crowd interaction and atmosphere really killed playing vs the CPU for me in 2k16 and for the first time ever I started listening to music with the game on Mute.

I honestly can't remember the last time I did the playoffs.

The crowd/atmosphere ruins it for me everytime. But hey, at least everyone is wearing the same colored shirt!!!

Audio and Atmosphere in the Online Modes needs a ton of help.

All Star Team Up and Pro-Am Team have decent atmospheres, but could be much better.

MyPark and Pro-Am Walk-On is DEAD, AWFUL, REPETITIVE, ANNOYING, OUTDATED - please fix this!

Crowd in general is just broken. They go silent if you hit an and 1 to tie the game in the final minute..
