I echo others here when I say FANTASTIC write up. But sadly, as it has been for the past 5 years, this will just fall on death ears in the VC/2K offices. Despite the myriad of problems, the game will continue to sell and VC will have no incentive to address the issues we've been screaming about for years now.

Because of a number of the issues mentioned, I skipped 2K13 and was on the verge of doing the same for '14 until I GameFly'd the current gen version and saw how much more polished it was than any other game of the series since 2K8. By this I figured they were finally on the path to improvement, and given that I was already in the process of getting a PS4, I thought that the next gen version could do no wrong - potentially having even more improved gameplay quality at best, having on-par-with-current gen gameplay quality at worst.

Instead, upon getting the next gen version, I was treated to perhaps my biggest personal disappointment in gaming this side of GTA4 (oddly enough, another Take Two product). And for the cherry on top, I later discover that the SP has been tied to online connectivity, bringing along with it every server issue conceivable. Brilliant VC, ....just brilliant.

Suffice to say, this will be my last NBA 2K purchase until some significantly convincing improvement has taken place with this franchise. Until then, I'll be watching out for worthy (and hopeful) competition to tide me over for my bball fix.

I was a completely satisfied customer since they brought me back to an NBA game in 2K11, it helps that they had classic teams, that's what got me. I enjoyed them for the last 4 years only to be let down by the current PS4 release. Until they patch in Association mode, create a player, create a shoe and local HD saves, i won't be a satisfied customer. REMOVE VC in MYGM and create a shoe. We got these features for free, use VC to offer us more classic teams and for MyPlayer. In this current state this game is a slap in the face
I've been seeing late-comer reviews for 2K14 recently on N4G, and believe it or not, despite the highly publicized issues and complaints, the game is still receiving scores in the range of 4 to 4.5/5. It may be safe to assume that these "reviewers" are casual gamers who are more into twitch shooters and the like, and may just be piggy backing off launch day reviews without giving the game a thorough assessment.

This game absolutely sucks this year, VC down your throat, online rosters and limited options - never again for me. I've blindly bought this game ever year since it came out for the Dreamcast, done - I'm out.

I just want to remind everyone that we are on the 4TH PATCH on next gen and stuff still doesn't work. And still on the current gen they refuse to patch anything. 2k doesn't care about the customer base and Chis Manning (LD2K) can laugh at that comment all he wants like he has done in the forums, the proof is on our TV's. If you call 2k tech support about anything they blame it on your internet connection and act like they have never heard of a single bug with the game. DO YOU ALL EVEN TEST THESE GAMES BEFORE YOU SEND THEM OUT??

Maybe the reason they are sucking us dry via VC transactions is because they are using that money to upgrade their ****ty servers for 2k15?

I mean... the amount of lag one has to endure while playing a ranked online head to head match is insane... Especially for us who live outside the US.

I have a 200 MB fiber connection and still suffer from horrendous lag and server issues.

They were selling huge amounts of expensive copies. I think this cover the expenses for a working server easily. VC is all about getting more and more money, year after year 2k gets greedier. And honestly I don't even think less customers for 2k15 would hurt 2k that much.

I will weigh in as one of the few who is happy with the product. As I dont care for my player, my team or any of those online modes my level of dissapointement is not in the same places. Im all about gameplay. And this game provides me the finest basketball gameplay ever. With the sliders I use I have almost no complaints with the gameplay.

I am dissappointed with the lack of local harddrive saves. And the various my gm bugs. But none of these have broken the excellent gameplay for me. Ive never played a 2k game that I didn't have to adjust sliders and this one is no different. So I've been able to find a great game that has made my next gen experience pretty wonderful.

There's no denying the complaints are warranted, but I'm having an absolute blast playing this game. Having learned from last console launch, I knew there were going to be some problems/blatant omissions/issues with the first iteration. There pretty much always is. I think even 23 said, 'you're not going to get the house and the farm from the jump'.

I'm just enjoying it from a pure gameplay standpoint. It's taken me a couple of months to find the perfect slider set, but now that I have it, this game is off-the-charts. Whether it's the NBA Today or just a quick game, I can't get enough. It's honestly the best basketball video game I have ever played.

I feel bad for the guys that are into MyGM or MyPlayer, but hopefully this next title update fixes those issues.

It would be much nicer if 2k actually gave us a list of issues and what ones are being addressed in the next patch, instead of us doing the equivalent of banging our head into a brick wall
This by far has been the most disappointing aspect of this launch to me. The PR department has been abysmal.

I can accept the fact that you're in over your head with the new technology. It happens. But to go underground and leave your loyal customers hanging in the wind is unacceptable.
