    Input lag running rampant online

Has still yet to even be addressed by a 2k representative (LD2K, Ronnie etc.)

Still plaguing online and costing users games (myself included). Gets old attempting to guard Curry while they run in circles to lose you.

Question to Xbox One users - post the recently released patch has input lag been alleviated at all?

Re: Input lag running rampant online

I tweeted them so many times about this. Never got an answer. Since they have this VC system now they dont care about anything else. Focus on the modes that require VC and dont give a MF about other modes. I hope EA gets their ish together soon....

        Input lag running rampant online

You guys know I've been with you complaining about this. For my part, I finally deleted and reinstalled. The input lag is substantially decreased. I would almost say it's playing like it did at launch. Again, for me. I'm not belittling your issue because I too suffered with it for 1.5 months.

        Have you tried a reinstall?

XB1 lag has gotten a little better, still way more playable than PS4.

This game has got on my last damn nerve. Sick of seeing the ai side cross the court for block or shot contests. I dont know if it the input lag but going up around the basket is too damn slow.

I played some ranked matches last night....I wouldn't call it input lag. When I pressed the buttons it did what I wanted. It's just that the game runs choppy online. It's kinda like 2k7 for 360/PS3 (PS3 was worse) it just doesn't run smooth. But when I pressed a button it did register.

Also the choppiness seemed to vary during the game. 1st quarter was terrible, 2nd quarter was better, 3rd quarter was smooth and the 4th got a bit worse again.

What we're talking about is most definitely input lag, and as a lifelong PC gamer (since 95) I know what it is.

You're talking about something else entirely, and I've never had what you're describing.

Re: Input lag running rampant online

It's incredibly difficult to time jump shots when the "excellent" release point in online games is a second or two after the ball has already left the shooter's hands. Especially if you just came from playing an offline game, where the timing is completely different. I wish 2K would just enable ratings based shooting for all online modes. That would solve part of the problem.

The other issue is that playing on-ball defense becomes impossible when your defender slides his feet or jumps into the air well after you press the corresponding button.

As a result, most online games devolve into spamming the paint and hoping for dunks or fouls. I can't fault people for playing the way they do. The input delay just doesn't make any other playing style possible.

I'm on the X1, and it has gotten substantially better for me the last couple of weeks. Still having problems with choppiness and games randomly disconnecting, though.

                          try playing from Australia...

I have attempted 5 games in the park - been booted back to main screen 4 times. The only game that i completed the lag was about 2 seconds.

Just let us have a normal search engine for games and allow us to sort games by ping...

I tried to run a tournament. All the games were blowouts. Each one! It was nuts.

Re: I think my possible solution is worth a try. You don't lose your save (remember they aren't even on the HD.). The worst that could happen is your game still doesn't work as designed.

@jyoung Your post is spot on. I hope 2K is watching.

I played some more ranked matches last night (PS4) and honestly they ran really smooth. No choppiness or input lag. The input lag might have been delayed by a sliver, but it's always been like that with 2k online, you have to adjust from offline to online. It also varies from online match to online match (it always had and always will). Just the jersey twitching was the only problem last night.

You really have to pay attention at the team select screen to see how the connection is, if it feels funky.....just back out and search again.
