    - VC is a pain at first, but after the initial big hump where your stats are lacking everywhere it isn't such a big deal. That said, I did do the MyGM VC farm while I watched TV which gave me up to 10k VC a day if I put in the time which meant after about a week or so of MyCareer/MyGM farming, I've got a close to maxed out player. Of course, this would be very different if I played all the game modes (which is why I mentioned I play MyCareer exclusively above).

    - MyCareer story is lacking. A nice addition from 2k13 no doubt, but far too linear.

    - Control Cheese. I define control cheese as 1) How does my player decide to do the crab walk or run normally when defending? I've given up easy baskets many times because my player suddenly decided to crab walk sideways when I'm trying to run to a spot. 2) On my left, there are 2 team mates, 1 is open for 3, and the other is standing out of bounds (or something similarly undesirable). I point my stick left and hit pass... guess who I pass to...

    - CPU Cheese. I think this one needs no explanation.
Try going into a quick game, player locking and bump up the awareness for the user to 70/80 or so. You won't see stupid stuff anymore

I think the gameplay(while still flawed) was top 3 in the serie. Everything(MyGM,MyCareer) else did not meet my expectations.

Is a very good game that continues to have" 2kisms" meaning there is always a flaw in 2k's game that stops it from being perfect. All that being said, it's the best bball game to date.

Re: Your final review on next-gen 2K14?

What I don't like is when the game F's you not just from your actual skill, for example I was just playing MyGM. All of a sudden my players start throwing the ball away on easy passes, computer gets loose balls that should go my way, missing excellent releases, etc. I can't tell you how many times I've had a rebound in my hand for a guard to come and snatch it from me when I have Marc Gasol. How terrible are loose balls in this game? I can also be playing AMAZING on ball D and block a couple shots to only have them get the ball back and make a shot or get fouled. Sometimes momentum is on their side so of course I call a time out, but it still keeps going. Missing open excellent releases with good shooters and passes going through my guys hands or standing out of bounds is STUPID. How about when I'm on a fast break and I want to pass it to the guy on the right, I want to do it as fast as possible so I want to use the left stick directional passing but if I do that, half the time the AI will pass it to the wrong guy on my team. I use icon passing 90% of the time but sometimes you need to use directional. I play on SIM and HOF in MYGM and the AI gets some ridiculous stuff off with people that shouldn't. If I'm going on a bad run, okay let ME lose the game, don't throw the passes away when I'm passing it with Westbrook to Oladipo 10 feet away. Also I can't also count how many times I've had an open lane and I'll be holding the left stick to the hoop and my guy will pull up for a jumper.. Stupid.

Re: Your final review on next-gen 2K14?

The game felt unfinished to me in November and still feels unfinished to me now - even after patches.

The gameplay is okay, not the greatest. I understand there are going to be nuances in every sports game. But the little things like "contextual" superman rebounds shouldn't be an issue.

The fact that big men can still keep up with the likes of Westbrook is a bit disappointing as well. And being that I'm a run-and-gun Phoenix Suns (a la D'Antoni) type of player, it frustrates me to no end to be caught by the likes of Roy Hibbert when I'm on a break with a PG or SG.

I do like some things. But overall, the game felt a bit rushed to me. It'll take time to really polish the game on next-gen since it was the first iteration of the 2K series on both PS4 and XB1. I just hope Association makes its way back into 2K at some point...along with CAP.

Create a player is not needed, nor is association.

I really don't get why people seem to like redundancy, lol. It's either that or they don't understand what my player and my gm are

How are accurate rosters supposed to be created if CAP isn't in the game?

I give it a 7/10, and this isn't the best 2k bball game to date (IMO). I have played them all and I would take 2k8 or 2k11 with improved graphics, functions, gamemodes, updated rosters, and gameplay over this ish any day of the week. While the player models and celebrations and such are probably the best we have seen, the gameplay lacks an organic feel. All the canimations have rendered 2k to nothing more than a visual simulation of an nba experience. If 2k doesn't put control back into the hands of the player, I will have to skip future installments altogether. If I want to simply watch nba and not have any effect on the outcome I can turn to ESPN or TNT. ABC even.

There are things I don't like but overall I'm satisfied with my purchase. There is a new one every year and we all can make the choice on whether we want to invest.
