I've been on these boards just as long and yes, the same song with one difference...VCs.

2K is on the hook. When you ask people spend money, you support or loose your customers. If 2k left the pay-2-play model alone, I would not care... as much.
Do they expect people to reset the VCs next year? What if Sony or Microsoft discarded their virtual currency when a new console was released. Oh wait Microsoft converted to cash.

2k must support what they have released. I don't even know what that means. Maybe this is a bad thing... We will see..

I haven't had to buy any VCs. I play all offline vs the CPU so while it might be some its not all of us.

I also don't support that model. I think them catering to all of this online stuff has turned this game into something it shouldn't be

AMEN!!!! I've started wondering if they made a game that was entirely focused on today's nba (year to year to be more specific b/c of the release cycle) if they'd sell as many copies and whether or not the features /gameplay would be better..... I can't help but think that branching out into euro league, my player/my team, historic teams, VC and anything else that arrives in future editions makes the core game worse.. If the ENTIRE focus was on franchise mode would the game be better? Oh and it's day 18 since this thread was started and no patch release, please next time just start the thread the day a patch will be released lol

AMEN!!!! I actually chose to buy the VCs, maybe 5 bucks. I felt the game the revs deserved a tip. That was the first week after launch. I quickly changed my tune when bugs that were fixed in the current gen version made there way into the next gen. I saw auto subbing, game settings, little things. I was still on the honeymoon but the game ran out of makeup.

Now I just want them to honor the commitment to this game model, and provide content which is worthy of the extra dollars.

Xbox live is free and paid. They have provided updates every month since the one came out. To everyone, paid or not.

Apple updates phones year after year. They understand when people are asked to invest in an ecosystem, they should receive something in return.

2k did not and does not have to continue pay-2-play. They could go back to how it was. My point is strictly on the power of what they are currently doing and not doing.

I believe what he was trying to convey was that these extra little knick knacks are distractions to keep your mind off of what's REALLY going on. I also believe he means they should FOCUS on gameplay and bugs instead of saying "hey look guys we are putting more Euroleague teams in the game for you to IGNORE again". Think of MyTeam and Euroleague as a Jedi Mind Trick.

Remember 7 years ago when there was supposed to be signature defense? What happened? You cant even move on defense hardly NOW. There will be a Titanium Brian Scalabrine card for The Precious MyTeam before we get signature defense for players.

2GTFOH if the patch does nothing to fix this game!

Yes absolutely, but honestly it doesn't surprise me at all. They have become madden in popularity and they no longer care about the little people who made them famous, just give people diamond kobe and park options and everybody good to go lol while the hardcore must adapt to this. I wish NBA Live would get it stuff together.

I swear, the things said here are downright funny. Been a member of this board when I was 15 and fast forward 10 plus years after, I'm reading the same things!

... and then NBA 2K is STILL the best selling game and will continue to do so because no other basketball video game can match what they have done in the past decade.

True, i especially agree with you about people saying things like "i'm not buying 2k if they don't change" then going out and buying it lol. I feel i'm one of the only people who actually won't give 2k my money each year.

Although as for the whole, no other basketball video game company can match what 2k has done, eh. 2k kinda wins by default. There aren't that many video game basketball sim games, it's not like that market is flooded with competition, kind of a niche category in gaming lmao.

Nothing for Nothing, the game came out 6months ago and they're still releasing patches. I haven't heard from LIVE or Madden in months! You have to give 2K some credit.

Credit for what? Live actually fixed their game to make it playable, which was two months after it was released.

Hmm. So this patch 5 talk was a hoax i guess...
I'm really feeling stupid for having bought a PS4 and Next Gen NBA 2K14. This is a very sad chapter in gaming history. I have never seen such a broken game and such futile efforts to try and fix it.

Ah, a joke, clearly. Funny.

Instead of Association we have MyGM. in MyGM after patch 4 (!!) these things are still not working:

- adding players to trade offers not possible (empty list appears), started in season two

- offering contract extensions not possible (empty list appears although
there are players eligible), started in season two

- when using a persuasive pitch during trade negotiations and somehow
communication with the 2k-server encounters an error, the wrong trade will be
executed (not the one corresponding to the final offer, but always the one
corresponding to the initial offer before you edited it and actually used the pitch.)

- extending staff contracts not working correctly. Often times the morale of the
staff member actually goes up, because you extended the contract, but the
same contract duration is displayed as before, no extension registered

- number of pricing changes doesn't reset at beginning of new season

- sound cuts (reported often)

- missing feature: still player energy not displayed when subbing players in with
the quick sub in feature

- missing feature: in coach menu we should be able to set up the bench

This i call broken. And there's lots more. These are just my favorite blunders.
I haven't even tried MyPlayer yet...
