GSW SCREWED Mark Jackson! No way that man should've lost the position to someone unproven. I love Kerr as a play by play analyst but he doesn't strike me as a leader of men, he's way too casual and soft spoken those are not characteristics of a HEAD coach, maybe an assistant coach but I'm not buying Kerr as head coach in this league

Let me preface this by saying that I am an avid fan of the Warriors and watch most of their games. I like Mark Jackson as a guy, but people really lack an understanding of why he got fired.

Mark Jackson really isn't a good coach. He's a good player's coach, meaning he can get his guys fired up, but 90% of his offensive plays are isolations and he is absolutely horrible with his rotations. He was running a 5 man bench rotation in the PLAYOFFS with the second worst bench in the league. While the Warriors may have taken the Clippers to 7 games, it wasn't because of Jackson. It was because players such as Curry (for a few of the games), Draymond, Jermaine and Iggy stepped up and performed on the big stage. When the Clippers would start big momentum shifts and were hitting their shots, he was always too late to call timeouts. Most importantly though (and this is a personnel issue), he was a total control freak. He wouldn't let the great Jerry West come to their practices, despite Jerry West being more than happy to help the players improve. While it's good that the player's liked him, he's just not a good coach. He's a glorified Mike Brown that just so happens to be a control freak.

I'm not saying that Kerr is going to be great, but he learned from the two greatest coaches in the history of the game. He should at least have a basic understanding of how to run an NBA team. Not to mention that it's not that hard to be any better than Jackson.
