Re: Just want to remind everyone

Zone is easier to beat this year than ever. In fact scrubs and cheesers are easier to beat than ever. Just run the Horns DBL play (or any Horns play for that matter) and you can kill a zone. I thought everyone knew this lol?

The only time I struggle against a zone is when I play those dudes who like to play the passing lanes. In that case making smart passes, using the manual cut, fake passing, pick and roll and just being patient is the key to beating those guys.

Now if you wanted to remind us about the awful rebounding in this game then that's a different story.

I have no trouble beating the zone 131. People just call it cheese because they have never seen it in real basketball and it just looks stupid. It works against some players who dont suck and i know why it pisses them off.

There are so many cheesers out there that do the dumbest **** and they think theyre good because they win some games against noobs. I swear the last dude that cheesed every way he could all game sounded like a ******** drone. Most of the guys on the mic sound normal, but this dude sounded like he was autistic or some ****. I guess he enjoys playing the game that way if it gets him the win. I wont do it and win without it because i play smart basketball. I also notice when i beat these cheesers they are the same guys who pause the game nonstop, call time outs and leave their controller alone, and **** like that because they cant stand losing. I plug in the mic and tell these fools just quit. I played the same guy in a myteam game and he got so mad when i beat him the day after he cheesed all game against me. He blew out my bronze team with all legends and golds and then i blew him out the next day because i remembered how he cheesed. He also did some lag switch bull**** both games where everything moves fast and he scores. He did it at the start of the first game and then he calmed down after getting a 10 point lead then he tried it again at the second game and i paused it and told him to turn off the youtube video even though i knew what he doing. He stopped for a while, but did it again. Didnt matter. I dont see why some people cant take the loss and still enjoy the game.

The truth about what's wrong with 2k14 next gen and the series in general

        1. Signature skills should be removed they make the game arcade like and promotes cheese the player tendencies should act as his signature skills

        2. The ratings are horrible

        3. Stamina needs to be adjusted to reflect everything you do u in game and diminish quicker

        4. Zone defense has no weakness should be removed if I can't be tweaked just bring back the settings from 13

        5. Alley oops are overpowered

        6. Big men shouldn't automatically have lower stamina then guards

I use the Bobcats, and consistently beat Heat, Knicks, Spurs, OKC, etc. Is it realistic? Hell no. I am just plain better than my opponent.

Stop bitching and get better at the game. Stop blaming the game since somebody beat you. They keep hitting 3's? Defend the 3 point line better. They keep dunking? Defend the paint better. Nobody is going to consistently hit good contested 3s in your face. They just aren't. Man up, get better at D, and stop complaining.

          Your complaining shows that

          1. You do not know how to beat the 1-3-1 Zone
          2. You do not know how to contest a shot (Even with Durant a contested shot goes in maybe 25%)
          3. You do not know how to defend the paint. - You can anticipate somebody wanting to drive a mile away. Switch to your center and move in for the charge.
What the hell does his original post have to do with winning and losing??? His issue is not wins or losses but how they are obtained. He's stating facts and while you may have a point that, at this point, it is kinda like beating a dead horse with all the threads already about this topic, it doesn't make it any less true. Exploiting holes in the mechanics of the game aka "cheesing" works FAR better than methodic, calculated strategies. The game is broken and everybody knows it. Anybody that talks the way you do, to me, is just a better cheeser than their opponent.

What's cheese to you? Is driving too much cheese? Is shooting a lot of three pointers cheese? I define cheese as something that is not beatable, and for the matter that exploits the game. The only thing I consider cheese is the back down spin dunk by either Lebron or Jordan. That is a tough to stop and I only manage to stop it if I have 3-4 guys in the paint, then the dunk misses.

Cheese is subjective of course but I define it as taking the easy way out (the back down spin dunk for example) at the expense of realism. Sure, if I keep leaving the paint open and you take advantage every time down the court...shame on me but, if you constantly run back and forth, wiggling the right stick until you get an opening to the lane it really doesn't matter whether I stop it or not....that's cheddar.

Agree because this is exploiting the game to your own advantage.

I ran an online league here for a minute and there was always the PiP debate. How many points in the paint is too many?

Quite honestly I don't care if somebody scored every single point in the paint against me if they were elite with their post moves, ran the P&R like a champ, and had a great fast break game. If they could just abuse me with actual basketball moves I just have to tip my hat. If they run around and turbo trying to find a lane and get an angle to get to the hoop...I want no part in playing like that.

THANK YOU! That's pretty much what I was trying to say. You just said it better. Lol

I could win a game against a cheeser and say to myself "Boy, that was brutal." ...on the other hand I could lose to someone who plays the game the right way and have the most epic time.

I don't expect realism online. I expect "cheese-ism" to be less effective. All I'm asking for.

If you and your opponent pick teams both in the bottom 20... typically those games are much less cheesy. I've had some epic Pelicans (No Davis or Gordon) vs Bobcats games.

U think its because those teams have less signature skills ?

It's about speed, quickness and athleticism, combined with how well the team can spread the floor.

The way I see it, most of the issues in the game come down to animations and input lag. Players being bumped or sliding out of the way with movement being very imprecise and the offensive players always being favoured.

Paint defense is completely ineffective, with the AI basically not guarding the opposing player at all. It's super easy to get deep post position, even get under the basket and passes there not only connect like crazy, but also make the defending player stuck in a 2-5 second 'attempted steal' animation. And once you get in the paint it's often unbelievably easy to score no matter the defense you're facing. 2K missed the memo on why 'fronting' is effective in real life.

Movement in this game feels like you're on skates, you can't easily get where you want to be, you slide around a lot and it's impossible to stay with anyone who is running. In fact in the fast break the defense completely breaks down to an unbelievable extent. You can't stop anyone by getting in front of them, they will slide past you and you can't even stop in place to defend someone who's standing on the perimeter, you will slide past him, around him and give an open look should he be passed to or if he's running around with the ball. With the huge lag only choice you have is to play off-ball, mostly big men since the big man AI can't guard the paint to save its life, then when the opponent is shooting switch to on-ball for the player contest bonus.

Easiest way to score is to turbo as long as you need to get into the paint and then pass it off to the big man through the defenders and score. There's really no answer to it. Every time I play online me and my opponent routinely shoot way above 65% no matter win or lose. When I play online though I rarely lose I never feel like the game is even remotely close to basketball, plays fairly or is even fun. Then I don't play it for a few weeks and forget how poor the online is and go there again.

That could be a reason. Also, the players are rated lower so some of the crazy stuff doesn't work as much. Another thing usually cheesers go with top teams... not common for them to use a low rated team.
