A few years back they have WRITTEN Developer Insights that came out more or less every week from July on. That was a great way to hype the game.
This year has been the year with the least information at this point, as I recall.

Well thats simply not even close to being true. Last year, the only thing 2k released at this point was pictures of Lebron. The first bit of news, the new blocking system, wasnt released until August 1.

I do not recall the timing but I surely miss the written insights. I feel like they came cruising in very late in July at the earliest but my memory fails me. My favorite form of information release is probably when NBA 2K would provide a very detailed insight each week and if we were lucky, we'd get a fulfilling video alongside.

I cannot find exact dates for 2K11, but here's one of my favorite insight videos (which had a detailed write-up alongside):

I am not so much in favor with the brief hype Tweets of recent years followed by short videos of employees chatting a little.

In 2010 we already knew all 10 Jordan Challenges and that Jordan would be in the game

In 2011 all 15 Legend Challenges Were Known

In 2012 the Dream Team and Team USA were confirmed

so yeah its been very light with the info this year.

On the broadcast of yesterday they said that the dev team worked on the defense, on the rebounds and on the 1-3-1 zone. They also commented that they talked with players in Virgin NBA2K tournament and with other players that participate in competitive videogames to make NBA2K more of a competitive game, I guess.

I want to know about gameplay and who will replace Steve Kerr, i think this are the two major things in the game and i'm worried (mainly Steve Kerr replace).

They also commented that they talked with cheesers in Virgin NBA2K tournament and with other random cheesers that participate in competitive cheesing to make NBA2K more of a cheesers friendly game, I guess.
