Not trusting that video, mainly because he (along with the rest of the 2K "Community Team-Up" YouTubers) are sponsored.

Think about it. If 2K Sports flew you out to San Francisco for a few days, all expenses paid, where you can play a Alpha Version of the next NBA 2K and hang out with your YouTube friends, where all you have to do is make a few videos saying how good the game is in return, would you say anything negative? That's junket journalism.

Just saying.

Edit: I'm not bagging on all YouTubers in general, but still. If you're appearing in commercials on national TV, you're a spokesperson.

Doubt it. That would mean they drastically improved cout spacing, close outs speed, defensive rotation, sliding...

Maybe they just found an easy way to 'nerf' it though.

Regardless it doesn't really matter to me. 1-3-1 has never been a big deal as I don't play people who looks to abuse the game.

I'm sorry but I don't think Da Czar would lie to the OS community. If he's saying it's fixed I'm going to go with what he's saying over any OS members opinion.

I will be buying NBA2k 14 again, no reason as of now why to pick up 2k15.

2k16 should be great, but honestly 2k14 with a roster update and probably going on sale for $19.99 I see no reason in the world to pick up 15. Also I just play casually online or with my family, 2k14 while not perfect is fun game

Thats going to be a bit hard to do with no create a player for rookies and no local saves. And when they shut there poor servers down for 2k14 well......

I trust DaCzar when he states something is fixed, I believe it will be fixed.

I also believed the promises made about the MyGM mode but was sad to see basic functionality walled off behind a VC wall - one that was higher on 2k's bug-fixing schedule than other fundamental fixes for basic functionality.

It is interesting that 2k hires people from the community yet it seems their influence does not have the impact on improvements I'd think it would.

The rest of my questions are not yet answered, so we'll wait and see on the rest.

Whatever happens with 2k15 will determine what I will do in the future purchasing.

Things like gating basic functionality behind VC, whether the PC version is updated to the newer engine, and if rosters and coaching staff will actually be updated and rated in a logical and timely manner will be measuring stick I will use to judge.

Should we lay odds right now on the Laker head coach being correct if he is not chosen before August rolls around? How many of you want to bet if the Euros coming over this year will be on the rosters? Even those that have already committed to do so before the August deadline that 2k always promises an accurate roster for but has not delivered on its promise for years. Such a simple promise to keep too, but I have my doubts that 2k will be able to deliver on it.

I couldn't hear anything on the vid for some reason. One requested feature - that the game force people to play the way they want them to - won't be in there. That means people will already be unhappy.

I'm a doubter on the 1-3-1 only because I know daczar would use the zone the right way.

What they need to do is invite the most successful guys in quick match in instead of guys from OS and watch what they do when they play and see how the game is abused at the highest level.

Removing the zone from the game is still number one on my list as well.

I concur on the rosters.

I never said or thought that Czar would lie. Like I said they might have found an easy way to 'nerf' it. Wich I guess would still be nice for thoses who play MyTeam and quick games.

They don't invite guys from OS. They invite Youtubers with big fanbases. Those guys only come to OS to push traffic to their channels after they return from TeamUp. Those youtubers don't post much on OS but they do come here to steal ideas for their videos. Most of their wishlist videos are ideas taken from this site - that I promise you.

Regarding the video you posted, I have a few questions. I haven't played next gen 2K so...

It's a playoff game, why is the tempo so high? From the few shots I've seen both teams don't even set up and execute a play. All I saw is rushing from one side to the court to the other.

And I noticed when a team is behind 10-20 points they still do full court defense even though it's easy to get by and score. Why is this still possible?! It's so unrealistic.

Yeh but my thing is I would have to see it to believe it b/c you can say its fixed until you come across those ppl who really mastered how to use 1-3-1. It can be beat but its a pain to do and the game gets really sloppy.

Yea I know how you guys feel. It's one of the many reasons I quit playing online.

But all jokes aside, Smoove is still sponsored, not only by 2K, but by Sony. And 2K and Sony have a strong partnership in terms of games (from what I remember and how more features seem to always appear on the PS4.) If Smoove was to relaunch his old sim league on NBA Live 14 (Almost happened during 2K10's no fantasy draft league problems), then all of his fans would follow suit.

That's how big of an impact he has on this game.

Edit: Either way, he is right about the 1-3-1 Zone being awful to play against. I've noticed Smoove actually brings up more flaws than the other "Community Team-Up" YouTubers. The others just hide them.

I think 2K knows the 1-3-1 is overpowered. I think they can fix it if they focused on it mainly the weaknesses of the zone and dedicated the resources to get it done. There is a real reason why NBA teams hardly ever go 1-3-1 only for a few possessions if that. They never programmed the defense to simulate what really happens.

1. 1-3-1 zones are susceptible to a high amount of offensive rebounds. If they made this happen people would fall back from this defense. You only have one defender in the low paint.
2. The corners are open in this defense in 2k14 but they are not as open as they should be as the close out speed is too fast. You also have to go to certain plays to get better spacing to get a shooter in the corner.

So if they fixed 1-3-1 to me they must have improved on closeout speed, passing and rebounding logic to say the least and maybe some of the plays breaking.
