I have no clue how you came to the conclusion that I was complaining about anything, so I'am gonna leave it at that.

Re: shot Ratings need to go in 2k15
That doesn't bother me, but what bothers me is when you take a shot with decent spacing and your grade is lower than it should be.im sure im not the only one here who gets mad as **** when they see EXCELLENT shot in the B+ to A+ area. while wide open, only to watch them brick it, or in some miracles Air ball it.
But then MAke AND SWISH Early/Late shots over people like no one was even there come on now 2k <_<
and dont even get me started on Free throws. Have they mentioned this at all in their "EPIC ANNOCEMENTS " <_<.Comment

Re: shot Ratings need to go in 2k15
There are so many factors, cold spot, hot spot, spot up vs moving/shooting off the dribble, ratings and streaks as well as fatigue. Shoot Kerr and Kellog give you clues when you are gunning and taking bad shots.
I think it should work like this like pieces of a pie. The shot quality should be tied to the ratings and tendency of the player and then relate back to how you perform how to what your ratings and tendencies. Call this 40% of the pie. Then there should be a second portion of it tied to the release timing and a certain portion tied to fatigue and and certain portion tied to cold or hot streak, then a certain portion tied to zones of the court.
So if you are a league average shooter from certain spots when open then you should not receive better than a C shot quality even with perfect release. If you are Steph Curry/ and can shoot off the dribble with heavy iso moves with no problem then your shot quality can be B+ or better.
So just relate the shot quality in reference to league numbers and then we will see way more C's than B+'s and A'sComment

Re: shot Ratings need to go in 2k15
What's the difference? If I shoot 60% of my jumpers after spending a month on it and have "mastered" my release as you say, I'm still shooting 60%. Good shooters come often and they've been working on their shot all their life. They can shoot 60% and it's still the same percentage as shooting 60% after working on it for a month.
Why does it even matter how quickly you can obtain a formidable jumper? The point is, just being able to hit jumpers will not get me into the NBA.
EDIT: One last thing, you keep stating to master your shot and get "extremely good". If you're a great shooter who has "mastered" their shot, no doubt you will shoot at a higher clip than 45%. Again, why are you bringing up the month timeline? It makes no difference if I became "extremely good" at shooting open jumpshots within a month or a year. It's still under the assumption of being a good shooter, doesn't matter how long it takes you to get there.
I never once complained it's not real that they're missing shots. I simply stated Ray Allen shoots higher than 45% if he were to shoot 1000 jumpshots for a month.Last edited by mikenoob; 08-11-2014, 12:12 PM.Comment

Re: shot Ratings need to go in 2k15
It seems like everyone is only reading half of the complaint. No one is saying players should hit every open jumper. The issue is missing good, open looks as often as (or in some cases, more often than) contested shots. You're not rewarded for playing smart basketball and getting the open shot any more than you are for dribbling back and forth and taking a contested fadeaway.Comment

Re: shot Ratings need to go in 2k15
i think the point of the topic went over everyone except El poop? head. i play ball. I KNOW YOU ARE GOING TO MISS SHOTS. however in 2k it feels like im missing the shots that SHOULD go in (the wide open ones) MORE than im missing the shots where i heave it over my man or 3 of them.
im Missing good shots and making Horrible Shots. i been playing since 2k10 and this game has gotten me the most fustrated with the issue. since its more common here in my honest opinion. and its more annoying when you are on D. your opponent misses a wide open shot. YAY!!!!!!!. but SWISHES a shot with a hand down his throat?
sig skills may also play a role here but its still annoying.Comment

Re: shot Ratings need to go in 2k15
I think the main problem with the shot rating system is that its completely broken. I can shoot a dribble pull up and get a slightly early B- that will go in, then i shoot a wide open shot and get very late D+. It happens all the time. In the past 2ks if you shoot and it says very early or very late is because
1. You accidentally shot when you wanted to pump fake
2.You release the ball once your player has started coming down from jumping.
In this game you can get very late or very early just by chance with no actual factors affecting your shot
EDIT: Also you can hold peoples jumpshots in online matches the entire time and watch them go in, what the hell is that?Comment
