Finished my first season of MyLeague with the Lakers. We finished 22-60 (oof!) and last place in the Pacific and Western Conference. It was a rough year but understandable knowing we're in a rebuild. James Harden won league MVP and the Chicago Bulls led by a now healthy Derrick Rose won the 2014-15 NBA Finals over the Houston Rockets.
In my last update I talked about wanting to make a move if it was smart at the deadline. We shopped Jeremy Lin a bit but teams showed little interest in taking on his $8mil+ remaining contract so we stayed put.
At the moment in my franchise I'm a few days removed from the Finals in June so I have a full offseason ahead. Notable players currently on the roster that will become free agents include the afore-mentioned Lin, Jordan Hill, Wesley Johnson, Ronnie Price, Carlos Boozer, Tarik Black and Steve Nash. So there will undoubtably be a number of changes in the look of this team.
Not changing next year will be the ever growing presence of Ed Davis. Davis had a very solid season and started down the stretch when Boozer and Hill were banged up. We'll also get Julius Randle back after he missed all but the opener last season so the Lakers look bright in the post heading into the 2015-16 season. Also of note, Kobe Bryant is also expected back and healthy to start the season. Bryant missed the final month of the 2014-15 season with a strained achilles but should be ready for the opener next fall.
That's all for now. Will update with information on the draft and the offseason FA period soon.
