Don't recall seeing this thread back in August but I read through it and had to add it to my favorites. What got me was the FA Hub with "preferred teams", "interest", "marketability", etc. It's very similar what Madden has in its own franchise mode, I think they had how a player would fit within the coach's system as well but I'm not sure. Great post op!

Re: The Next Step in Immersion For Me
Let me just add as an NBA Live player, I think real nba players move in a way that is a mix of Live and 2k. Live has the freedom of movement and goes exactly where you want while 2k makes you feel like your on roller skates, burdened by over animation.
At the same time Live is missing a ton of animations and is missing a feeling of depth. So changing player movement to be a little closer to Live would change this gameComment

Went back and read the OP post again. Man, is it amazing. Just hitting everything right on the head. If 2K implemented half of this, id be very satisfied.
Easily the best post I've seen on OS.HATE LOSING MORE THAN I LOVE WINNING!

Re: The Next Step in Immersion For Me
Solid post, a bunch of these aren't as important to me, but i do agree about the movement. Particularly in my player the movement has always felt off, like you're fighting against some unseen force or momentum or something at times. The movement doesn't feel precise i guess.Comment

Re: The Next Step in Immersion For Me
That OP is a massive post and there are plenty of good points for my 2c.
HOWEVER ... all of that is just bells, whistles and "nice to haves" when a 6'10, 260lbs player still has the physique of a 12 year old girl and arms like David Spade's.
It's kind of hard to be "immersed" in the realism of the game (with your created players/MyPlayer anyway), when the player's physique is so wrong that it's actually quite funny.
I just don't understand why we can tweak the exact shape of a player's head, and select from a plethora of almost-identical shooting animations, but we can NOT have much of a say in what the player even LOOKS like (in game, you usually looking at them from a distance, i.e. their entire body, not just their head).
What's even more baffling is that the game obviously supports these body types. The pre-made players have very realistic physiques. Karl Malone is a beast and Shaq is huge. Why not let the user select their body shape from the huge amount of pre-made body shapes just like we can select their animations???
