Re: Online play HOF
Instead of having one overall difficulty why not just have some sort of lobby system where you pick the difficulty that you want to play and you can challenge someone.
Also a feature that I feel that would enhance the online game tremendously is to be able to set up a private match where you can edit the sliders and then invite friends to your game.
I know All Pro Football 2K8 had the same online setup and I feel that it had the best online experience in a sports game ever for me. I spent at least 150+ hours playing it because of the competitiveness that being able to see the players' records and teams that they had created in the lobby brought with it. -

They steered away to keep people from targeting lower skilled players to boost their own ranking/record... Now they just quit in the 1st quarter if they see it's not going to be an easy win and the game doesn't count... SMHComment

Re: Online play HOF
Putting the difficulty on HOF Sim will not solve anything. First, all a guy would have to do is play off ball defense and let the AI cover you - something most guys will not be able to handle. And on offense, guys will just cheese to score.
Until they make HOF just smarter (adjust to plays quicker, force a player a direction, look to take advantage of weaknesses, etc...) and not giving everyone ratings boost, putting online ranked on that difficulty is counterproductive IMO.
Lobbies would be the best solution but I don't think "sim gamers" realize that it isn't a end all for them - people will purposely say they play "sim" so they can cheese them and make them quit out of frustration.#WashedGamerComment

Your right most people would crumble vs the cpu defense, but that might encourage people to actually learn an offense other than turbo down the court all game. If I know the guy is off-ball I'll just run floppy for one of my good shooters or horns with Davis and Evans will kill the computer. Even a more basic option is just a quick post. The cpu defense in the post is worse than any users I've ever seen.COACH2K LEAGUE - NEW ORLEANS PELICANS

True but then you'll be just rinsing and repeating - in real life thats something I would do all day but out in the community it would be frowned upon as cheesing the AI, especially if the AI can't stop it. You know how that 'That's cheese!' game is played haha.Your right most people would crumble vs the cpu defense, but that might encourage people to actually learn an offense other than turbo down the court all game. Re: Online play HOF
Id love lobbies back, but like stated above, people would take advantage of that.
I'd love to see custom communities or something like that.
Twitter is huge in the social media world, and connects everything using hashtags. What if 2k implemented a hashtag system in 2k to allow us to connect with similar minded players in Ranked Games?
For example, we could associate up to 5 hashtags with our Online IDs, like #OperationSports, #SimNation, #LebronStan, #ImACheeser, etc. And the matchmaking system would try to match you with people with similar tags, so we would be more likely to find people we wouldnt mind playing against. Of course this isn't a perfect system but i think it would be cool. The vast majority of casuals have never heard of Operation Sports, so if we put that as a hashtag, chances are we would get pretty good games. Just a little idea I had.Sixers/Panthers/Tarheels

Yeah I know they're all over the place and I feel like everything's got unnecessary and annoying hashtags. Movies, shows, music, games, hell I wouldn't be surprised if hashtags themselves had hashtags.Comment

The thing with 2K is when they had lobbies, the games didn't count at all. So, I don't see a reason why people would target players.
I don't see a good reason why lobbies were taken out. Let us play on the difficulty and settings we'd like against like minded opponents.Comment
