Xbox One is officially adding Media Player: Does mean the return of Arena Sounds?

    http://www.trustedreviews.com/news/x...ate-on-the-way

An update is on the way. What are the odds that we get our custom arena sounds on the current gen consoles on the XB1, at least?

One point that appears to go beyond what your Xbox 360 could do concerns supported formats. As Major Nelson notes in his blog post, "Xbox One will support more formats than Xbox 360, including support for dozens of new file formats like mpeg 2 TS, animated gifs and mkv which will be added by the end of the year."

At this point, it seems that the 2K guys they would've had to have anticipated that and already implemented into the game. It would be great if they did. If not, I'd doubt they have enough time to add that feature now.

Oh I'm not expecting anything for NBA 2k15. Only confirmation we have from Microsoft is that we should have it by the end of the year. NBA 2k16 would be the most reasonable guess. Not sure if 2k would do it for only one console, though. That's why I asked. Either way I'm stoked. Those arena and player sounds add soo much to the game for me. Love that D-Rose tone! Adding those to the current gen visuals would put me in heaven.

The media player is coming in the September update. It's already available to some of the update preview testers. My console hasn't updated yet but it should soon.

This is one of my favorite features...unfortunately the PS4 is yet to announce an update for that functionality also so that sucks. It adds a whole lot to the game I agree.

Hopefully they will. I am guessing we will be seeing an update to that very soon as they have also been quick to update things as soon as XB1 decides to add something new.

I can't imagine Sony not adding it by the time NBA 2K16 releases. They won't let Microsoft get that advantage. Even if it's not a system seller, it's a standard by now.

It would be nice to have this back. I don't think it will happen until both get the capability for it. But if Sony is making profits off their music service then there's no reason for them to add it.

I'll see if I have it. I'm an update previewer.

I doubt it... doesn't allow music to played in the background yet does it?

I'm pretty sure you do. That's how big the September update is. You have to connect a USB drive with media on it and it'll prompt you to install the Media Player app.

This is honestly not a 2k topic
