What was the name of that long time game editor that let you tweak the starting stats in my career? We need that. Badly.

The only interest I had in this game mode was creating an interesting/odd player so I went with a 5'8" speedy ball control point guard. Problem is that he started with like 70 speed and 72 quicks. Kinda stupid.

And of course every other stat is atrocious. That 70/72 was what they gave me for making a little guy. Good luck to me. I cant get a shot off in anything over Pro.

Can someone PLEEEEASE tell me if they've gotten the shoe deal after the first season. Starting to think 2k wanted us to play and achieve most stuff year one. What about Gatorade and State Farm sponsorships. Anyone get that after year one?!!

The way the game is set up is to force you to actually play the game versus purchasing vc to Max out. You will get 100 attribute upgrades total. You start off with 75, so this means you can max out 5 categories of you don't attempt to raise rebounding at all.b

You can't get most of that really till year two, because if you go to my endorsements it'll tell you how to get most of them. I think the Gatorade requires you to play over 30 games as a starter.

It's not even about my attributes being so low that I can't make shots, it's about the fact that if i don't get the ball and don't get chances to make plays I get a C or B- ratings by the end of a game.

Then, the coach says "what the hell was that?" or I show a POOR performance. It's ridiculous. Clearly I'm not going to be good when I first start.

Also, VC is horrible. I use my saved VC to improve my attributes when I tried PG but I want to change and be a SF so I don't get that VC back.

VC is a really bad way of progression in this game.

Going back to MyLeague and MyGM modes. 100x better.

Edit: What's even worse is when they have me defending one guy, but then they change it AT THE DROP OF A DIME to cover a different player WHO IS OPEN FOR A 3. And he sinks it, and I get a penalty for allowing a man to score. LOL seriously?
I get where you're coming from, but there are ways to be a role player and STILL get a high teammate grade. Setting picks and playing within your TEAM'S defensive sets makes a big difference.

Also, another way to improve that rating is if you turn play calling to auto with playart turned on. That way, you can run the plays called and shoot when open. If you run the plays, you'll get some shots that you don't if you run freestyle as a SF.

Jordan is an easy choice for me. Huge jordan head, so the retros are a must.

I disagree with your complaints. I don't want to say this, but it may just be an issue where you need to get better.

It is easy to get a high teammate grade without scoring as much. My long term career player is a PG so obviously racking up assists helps but it is more than that.

On most trips up and down the court I get things like good ball movement (where I did not even touch the ball), good spacing, good team defense, successful box out, etc.

Yes when you start you are not that good so you cannot put up a lot of points. So play team basketball! Be a good role player by doing the little things like setting screens and grabbing boards.

As for the assignments switching, again, play team basketball. Just like real life you sometimes need to rotate. You cannot play like "I got my guy, you hold your guy."
Occasionally the game will throw a last second shift on you but that is the minority.

The rotations get better as team chemistry improve.

Yeah, with my SF i can easily get 15+ rebounds a game.

I hear you and I can beat the game in MyGM or MyLeague on Superstar right now but when they switch players to cover from near the baseline to the 3pt arc then there's nothing I can do when he's by himself...wide open and hits the 3 because I can't get there from the baseline in time.

Also what about VC? I had VC saved, spent it on another player but decided to reroll a different player so I didn't retain that VC.

Playing my career is very different from gm or league. In my career you will find yourself doing things that we do not typically do in the other modes. I am a long time strictly franchise guy so it took some adjusting.

And yeah there will be a few times where the game switches assignments on you at the last second when there is little chance to rotate. But I find those to be not that frequent.

As for VC I don't know what to tell you. It is a design decision and I agree with it. Starting over with a new character should mean starting over. Accessories should stick and I believe they do.
