Can anyone experienced with both tell me the difference between normal gameplay and simulation? I've heard simulation is better but in what ways is it different?

I'm a SF on the Pelicans and I'm playing against the Bucks in 12 min qtrs. The score is only 58-57 at the start of the 4th quarter.

Ummm...is there something wrong with this mode? I'm playing on All-Star Sim.

I mean my 69 OVR SF had 18 points of those 58. *shrug*

Re: NBA 2K15 (Next Gen.) Official MyCAREER Thread

Finished my rookie year with the Kings at 29-53. Went 6-5 with Rudy Gay in the lineup, and 5-23 without him. Went through the offseason with the intention of re-signing with the Kings if, and only if, they managed to re-sign Rudy. Lo and behold, there's no way to check if that was the case so I trusted my gut and re-upped with the Kings for a year (Houston and Indiana were my other choices).

Interestingly enough the two guys who recruited me aside from Boogie were Andre Iguodala and Andre Drummond. Have to say, Iggy did a great job on the voice acting.

Anyway, I go through the whole "Doc Rivers is the new coach thing" and then when he's addressing the team in the locker room I tune him out completely and start looking for Rudy Gay. Luckily enough, he's there. Got signed to a 4 year deal. No more Derrick Williams starting at Small Forward!!

Also we ended up with the 1st pick in the draft and picked a 78 overall Power Forward. He's a good offensive threat and should allow me to facilitate and focus on defense rather than trying to score 30 every game. Overall, very satisfied with how the offseason went and I'm excited to play this next season.

Oh, and Houston ended up signing Rubio, so Minnesota is going to be absolutely terrible. Also Minny traded their 2nd or 3rd overall pick to the Sixers so the Sixers ended up with pick 2 and 3. Noooo clue what the Wolves got in return. All I know is they are gonna win maybe 10 games tops with that team.

One last thing, ended up posting a 16.7/5.1/5.7 line on .466/.368/.761 shooting for my rookie year. Hopefully those points won't have to go up and those assists will jump.

Default is basically an even playing field. Three pointers, layups, contact layups, mid range, everything has the same margin for error(missing) as the next thing, which isn't exactly realistic.

Simulation has altered sliders, where your chances of making an open layup is greater than your chance of making an open three. Contact shots are harder to make as well. This is basically the setup you want to use if you're looking for a realistic game experience.

Definitely pick sim though. Default CPU is unstoppable, while sim is containable and honestly you won't really notice a difference in what shots go in.

Ok thanks. That makes sense considering my teamates will consistently blow open layups on fast breaks, and the thunder are shooting 60% in both of my first two games in the playoff series so far.

Do you have any recommendation on difficulty? Currently I am on superstar since HoF is the most unrealistic game mode ever, but I read people on this forum saying that all-star is supposedly better.

I can't even ball hog it and try to score 40 because it reverts me back to not making anything at that point.

As much as I knew we were doomed when I joined and saw they were a 9-34 team.. not knowing the record at the time, I would have NEVER gone to the Wolves.. then they'd be a .500 team and I could go as a free agent when everyone had a year and better 2nd year ratings.

Those kind of things are just stupid.. as is what everyone has said, you don't know who is ON the teams you're looking at as a free agent.. it's not exactly logical to pick a team because you THINK they might have stayed together.. everyone mentions Nash and Kobe retire from the Lakers if you're signed (nobody mentioned if they're on there if you don't go there, that I've seen) .. not that I'd ever go the 'Lake-show'

Actually, Kobe is still on the Lakers for me and I'm on the team. It's been quite the time though because the team traded away our three (Nick Young) for Perry Jones and Mitch McGary. Nice, right? Not really since neither get playing time and Young was starting.

Now it's me, Kobe, old Shawn Marion, Randle and Hill starting with Lin and Ed Davis being the main pieces off the bench. Nash (I think retired), Johnson and Boozer (Pacers) are all off the team. We're middle of the pack because our rim protection is horrible and with Young gone, it's basically Kobe and myself on offense with Randle being hit or miss. I am getting near triple doubles in games though on only a one year deal so my chances of getting a max after the season are good hopefully.

So, first game of the 2nd season. I had 14 and 15 boards, along with 3 blocks. That was good for player of the game, since we had a really balanced offense (thanks Doc Rivers!). Doc actually talks during the timeouts, which is nice.

After the game, I'm on the interview platform. The reporters try and cross me up, but I'm not having that. The PR Director says I did a great job. And then...

I think she was staring at my butt. Is it wrong to date your team's PR Director?

Whats up with this game and injuring your best team mate?

James Harden just got injured on a jumpshot so I just restarted the game because I dont want to have to score 40+ points a game again.

The Teammate Score is so skewed . I shouldn't be penalized for someone getting their own rebound after I block their shot.

NBA finals against... The Thunder, with an injured Russell Westbrook. KD's been dropping 40+ points almost every game in the previous rounds

I have 14 games left in my 2nd season with the Bucks. Im really debating on just simming the rest of season. I was playing a lot of consecutive games just to get badges. I achieved my early season goal of finding a way to score. I avg 18.3 ppg, 12.1 rebs(2nd in league), 1.3 spg, and 1.9 block(T-1st). The only reason I want to play is to try and be the league leader in blocks, but I could do that in another season. I got my overall to 85, so I should get a good contract. The main thing I want to work on is my post game and my face up game, but that could wait.
My main problem is that there isn't a certain team, I want to play for. Players with Volume shooter scares me away
My 2 main options are the Hornets and the Jazz. Hornets seem like they would be a good team to play for, only thing is I don't want to hear Jefferson talk lol. Jazz just because to pair up with Exum. I will have to decide on that one

It punishes so much for allowing an offensive rebound.. when they haven't fixed that.. 2k14 was worse though.. every shot I blocked.. their team rebounded and more often than not I hadn't recovered in time and my guy got the ball back for a layup, wiping out the blocked shot.. and every shot a teammate blocked when into the arms of the guy I was guarding to punish me not only for an offensive board but usually the put back

The other side of teammate score is just as bad though.. I can almost guarantee an A.. if not an A+ if the game doesn't decide to take over and beat me by 30-40 pts with players I'm guarding going off on me.
